1. Brantfell Cottage

Price per night: From £89 for 2 people

Location: Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria

Brantfell Cottage is easily one of the most beautiful Airbnbs in the Lake District.

This boutique two-bedroom Lakeland stone cottage is in an idyllic, elevated position above Bowness, affording stunning views across Lake Windermere.

It’s beautifully renovated and contains a modern kitchen diner, utility space, and living area downstairs, followed by a luxurious master king-size bedroom, twin bedroom, and a stylish shower room upstairs.

Expect quality furnishings, parquet-style flooring, and sumptuously soft carpeting!

Outside is a private patio and landscaped garden, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

And it even has two dedicated off-street parking spaces so you won’t have to worry about finding a spot after a long day of exploring!

What guests say: “Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. We had a great stay. The property had everything we needed. The guidebook was useful (especially with being sent electronically the week before) and had plenty of recommendations. The hamper full of tasty treats was a very welcome surprise. Would love to stay again and would definitely recommend.”

2. Kendal Shepherd’s Hut

Price per night: From £89 for 2 people

Location: Kendal, Cumbria

Say hello to one of the most beautiful shepherd’s huts in the Lake District.

Waking up inside the shepherd’s hut each winter morning to the frosty, sparkly fields was one of the most magical things I’ve ever experienced.

I’ll let the picture speak for itself but this really is one hell of a stay!

There was even a bottle of champers and a birthday card awaiting my arrival.

What guests say: “Such a cute and cosy place to stay. Couldn’t have wished for anything more. The hut was cleaned to a very high standard and made up to be very welcoming. Lovely personal touches with the basket for breakfast. Homemade bread and bottles of fresh milk. The views from the front window are also spectacular of a morning when the sun is coming up.”

3. Cute Micro Home

Price per night: From £85 for 2 people

Location: Windermere, Cumbria

If you want to stay in a Lake District Airbnb with beautiful decor, you’ll find just that in this cute micro home.

Inspired by Scandinavian living spaces, they’ve packed a lot into a small space, without it feeling cluttered.

Inside this lovingly decorated wood-panelled cabin you’ll find a king-size bed, ambient fire, mini-fridge, coffee station, entertainment systems, and en suite bathroom.

A short stroll from Windermere’s lakes, it’s also a great base from which to explore some of the Lake District’s best scenery.

What guests say: “The Scandi hut was absolutely beautiful. So many little details that made it extra lovely, like the fairy lights above the shower, the Phillips hue and fire lights that we could change, and Netflix on the television that we could use. Alison was really friendly and came to make sure we were in and comfortable after we arrived, and was very communicative both before and during our stay.”

4. Romantic Hideaway

So whether you explore further afield or just cosy up in the cabin admiring the scenery from the sofa, beautiful views are in abundance here.

The cabin is also fitted with lots of modern amenities including a Bose speaker and a Nespresso coffee machine.

However, my favourite thing about this cabin is how eco-friendly it is with solar power and natural materials used throughout!

What guests say: “This place is magical. So private and secluded yet just a 5-minute walk to a good pub and the perfect base to explore the mountains without even having to get back in your car. We found the accommodation sparkling clean with lots of thoughtful touches. Loved curling up next to the wood burner in the evenings after a long walk with some lovely views out of the doors.”

5. Cosy Log Cabin

The starry night skies are something special too! Inside, the story is much the same.

The beautifully designed off-grid wooden cabin will make you feel far from civilisation.

What guests say: Excellent communications leading to one of the most peaceful locations. If you dream of looking at the stars in a hot tub with the background noise of waves from the deserted beach. This will be fulfilled. It was immaculately clean and the surprise touches made it. Thank you.”

There were lovely little homely touches, the place was really clean and the beds were super comfy. However, the best thing about the cottage is the stunning panoramic views and the private beachfront terrace you can enjoy them from.

What guests say: “Piers’ cottage in Ravenglass is on another level to what you normally expect. A stunning, quiet and special place that is truly unique. It’s obvious that Piers has a really keen eye for matching the decor to the landscape and making the most out of a wonderful place and the spacious rooms. Outside, there’s lots of entertaining space for eating dinner alfresco and watching the sun go down.

With a large enclosed lawned garden area and two sandstone terraces to choose from, you can really spread yourselves out.

What guests say: “This was about our 13th Airbnb stay. Without question one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. The place does share a wall on either end with other Airbnb townhouses, but I never heard or saw the neighbours. Inside, the place was perfectly clean, everything worked flawlessly, and the appliances in the kitchen were top of the line.”

And if you want to make your stay that tad bit more special, make sure you book use of their wood-fired outdoor hot tub up in the woods in advance!

What guests say: “Myself and my best friend had a wonderful stay in the Shepherds Hut. We were pleasantly surprised by the space inside and the amazing new and modern shower and toilet facilities. We had all the supplies we needed to have a comfortable stay yet felt we were still having the ‘rural’ experience. Alan and Cheryl were excellent communicators and made us feel very at home.”
