Best Brunch Cardiff: 21 Best Places for Brunch in Cardiff [2024]

by

If there’s a place to go in the UK for brunch, it’s Cardiff.

To confirm this, TripAdvisor did a study and Cardiff came out as number 1 in the UK!

One of the many great things about the city is just how many brunch spots focus on fresh, local food.

But don’t just think it’s avocado on toast on offer (as much as I love it) – oh no, the city has a whole range of brunch options!

From brunch burgers to a vegan full Welsh breakfast, Cardiff has it all and so much more.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere central, in the outskirts, or just a simple pit stop after some shopping, then you’ll definitely be able to find something for you in this post.

So without further ado, here’s my ultimate round-up of the best brunch in Cardiff!

With five branches across the city, no matter where you are there’ll be one close by.

From homemade cinnamon fruit loaf and overnight oats to a whole host of poached egg and local sourdough options, they’re more than ready to feed you!

One of the best options?

Their scrambled tofu!

Perfectly cooked and seasoned, it makes a truly yummy brunch option, especially when paired with their delicious local sourdough.

But not just that, they have gourmet coffee on offer, along with any kind of tea that you could wish for from their in-house tea selection.

Whether you want something calming or energising, they’ll be able to advise you on what would best suit your brunch feast!

If you look at their menu, you’ll be able to see that you won’t be short of options for brunch here.

(If anything, you won’t know what to choose!)

From a midday ‘tofish burger’ to their delicious ‘Arabian wrap’, they’re truly innovative when it comes to creating a vegan brunch that’s full of flavour and not short on deliciousness.

A trip here is one of my favourite date ideas in Cardiff too because what’s more romantic than doing your bit for the planet, right?!

Their ethos is to provide these people with ‘a hand up’ not a ‘hand out’.

Getting to enjoy some of the best brunch in Cardiff while supporting a great cause seems like a no-brainer to me!

Their brunch menu features everything from an avocado bagel to vegan French toast to an array of omelettes.

My personal favourite item on their menu is the Earl Grey and apple porridge.

They do your traditional brunch baps, but what you really want to look out for is their herby chickpea bagel.

With a host of nourishing vegan and gluten-free brunch options, they offer hearty options which cater to you and your furry friend.

What are some of the customers’ favourites on the menu?

Bills is situated on the corner of Wyndham Arcade so is neatly positioned if you’re coming in by train.

They offer a slightly smaller brunch menu in comparison to others but if you’re looking for the classics (think poached eggs, pancakes, etc.) then you’ll have no trouble finding them at Bills.

The Mediterranean breakfast with toasted flatbread is a classic and it makes for a warming brunch option on a chillier morning.

The Ivy is somewhere that needs no introduction because it’s popular the nation over for its fine food,  chic décor, and delicious drinks.

It’s a sophisticated spot for all-day dining and drinking, but their weekend brunches feel surprisingly relaxed.

Try the truffled wild mushrooms for starters, and follow it up with the hot buttermilk pancakes for mains, then thank me later.

They’ll have you wanting to come back for more!

I mean, is there a better combination than that?!

They pride themselves on putting a twist on traditional British brunch dishes, infusing the style of Italian food wherever they can.

Think perfectly roasted ciabatta bread, eggs cooked to your preference, or a full veggie breakfast packed with fennel, chilli, and mushrooms.
