Cornwall Sea View Cottages: 27 Cottages with Great Views [2024]

by

If you’re a fan of surfing, beautiful beaches, and Cornish pasties galore, then you’ll love Cornwall.

It’s a British staycation staple for a reason, after all!

However, if you’re looking to make your trip to Cornwall even better, why not book a stay in one of these Cornwall sea view cottages?

There are countless reasons to stay in a self-catering sea view cottage, whether it’s for the gorgeous vistas, the fresh ocean air, or the convenience of being right by the beach.

And luckily for you, I’ve rounded up 27 of my favourite properties!

So, from stylish beachfront cottages to rural clifftop cabins, here are the 27 most beautiful sea view cottages in Cornwall.

1. Ocean View

Price per week: From £780 for 4 people

Location: 3 miles east of Looe

Ocean View is one of my favourite Cornwall sea view cottages because, well, have you seen that photo above?

If soaking in a sunken bubbling hot tub with palm trees swaying around you doesn’t seem like your idea of a good time, then we’re not the same person.

This modern property is perched above the popular seaside village of Seaton, commanding unbeatable views over the sea.

You can enjoy the views from either your spacious sundeck, the lower decking area, or the romantic Juliet balcony.

2. No 1 Polvellan

Price per week: From £1018 for 6 people

Location: Mousehole

No 1 Polvellan is a gorgeous modern apartment that’s to die for – both with or without the sea views.

But luckily for you, it’s got stylish interiors and amazing sea views to boot!

Enjoy the panoramic sea views from your spacious terrace while dining al fresco, before retreating into the comfort of your spacious apartment.

Inside, you’ll find an amazing open-plan living space, three beautiful bedrooms, one en-suite, and one family bathroom.

3. The Hideaway at Polhawn

Price per week: From £490 for 2 people

Location: 2.6 miles SE of Whitsand Bay

The Hideaway at Polhawn is intimate, romantic, and oh-so-dreamy.

It makes for the perfect bolthole for two and is tucked away in a prime cliffside position, overlooking the popular Whitsand Bay.

Whether you choose to relax inside or outside, you’re never too far away from that gorgeous view but my favourite sea-viewing spot would have to be the outdoor swing chair.

Watching the sunset with a book and a glass of wine in hand from that chair sounds like a pretty dreamy way to spend the evening, no?

4. White Cottage

Price per week: From £712 for 4 people

Location: 5.5 miles SW of Falmouth

White Cottage enjoys some of the best views of all these Cornwall sea view cottages.

From its one-acre garden, you can soak up the views of the Helford River across to Frenchman’s Creek, with some added countryside and woodland views too.

Inside, the space is traditional and cosy, sleeping up to four people across three bedrooms.

However, my favourite part of the cottage is its private slipway, perfect for launching kayaks or a dinghy.

Because where better to enjoy sea views from than the water, right?

5. Krowji

Price per week: From £500 for 4 people

Location: Polzeath

Krowji is a beautiful beach hut that perfectly encapsulates all things good about Cornwall.

It’s charming, quaint and filled with all sorts of nautical touches.

And to make things even better, it’s situated in Polzeath, a world-renowned surfing destination brimming with trendy shops, independent restaurants, and, of course, acres of sand.

As you can expect, the views from Krowji are pretty special.

Whether you enjoy the views from the conservatory or your garden, you won’t be forgetting them anytime soon, that’s for sure.

6. Number 4 Sea View

Price per week: From £770 for 4 people

Location: Marazion

Number 4 Sea View is one of my all-time favourite Classic Cottages properties and once you take a look inside, I think you’ll understand why.

This lovingly-restored cottage is light, airy and filled with charming features.

From the colourful bookshelves and enchanting paintings to the sumptuous wood burner and exposed wooden beams, the cottage looks like it was taken straight out of a Pinterest board.

However, of course, the highlight of the property is those much-sought-after views across the famous St Michael’s Mount.

Enjoy them from your patio garden or one of the many large windows inside the property.

7. The Song of the Sea

Price per week: From £409 for 2 people

Location: 1.5 miles NE of Kingsand

The Song of the Sea is one of the most affordable Cornwall sea view cottages making it a winner in my eyes already.

With prices starting from just £58 a night, booking a stay here is a no-brainer.

I mean, who wouldn’t want to stay somewhere with stunning sea views, beautiful communal gardens, and a cosy interior?

The apartment is also perfectly positioned only a stone’s throw from the popular twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand.

Beach day, anyone?

8. Our Cottage

Price per week: From £746 for 7 people

Location: St Mawes

Our Cottage is one of the most beautiful sea view cottages in Cornwall and I’m sure you’d be quick to agree!

Set in the stunning harbourside village of St Mawes, the views from this cottage are pretty unbeatable.

And luckily for you, there are plenty of places within Our Cottage to soak up the views.

From the large windows to the gorgeous raised terrace, you won’t be short of sunspots to appreciate your surroundings.

9. Skylight Barn

Price per week: From £478 for 2 people

Location: Coverack

Skylight Barn has it all: beautiful exposed beams, a toasty wood burner, and amazing views.

Triple threat or what?!

Inside the barn, you’ll discover a spacious open-plan living area, two bedrooms and a bathroom.

However, of course, what you really want is some fantastic sea views which you can enjoy either from the balcony or the private garden.

Head out there with your morning coffee and prepare to experience complete and utter bliss!

10. Seaward

living-room-in-seaward-cottage-in-port-isaac

Price per week: From £1369 for 11 people

Location: Port Isaac

Seaward takes its eponymous ‘seaward’ views very seriously – they are simply stunning!

However, forget the views for a second because one of the best things about this property is that, unlike many Cornwall sea view cottages, this one sleeps up to 11 people.

This makes it a great option for big family or friend getaways!

Set over three storeys, the property comprises an impressive six bedrooms, a living/dining room, a kitchen/breakfast room, a terrace, and a lawned garden.

11. Thimble Cottage

table-overlooking-sea-in-thimble-cottage-in-mousehole

Price per week: From £550 for 2 people

Location: Mousehole

Thimble Cottage in Mousehole is pretty much as cute as it sounds.

This charming little cottage sleeps two people and is filled with all sorts of romantic touches including a sumptuous free-standing bath and a cosy living area with a wood burner.

And of course, the cottage wouldn’t be on this list if it didn’t enjoy amazing sea views from every single room.

The best spot for admiring the views, however, is from the private terrace with a fire pit.

Don’t forget to pack the marshmallows!

12. Pennant Cottage

Price per week: From £514 for 4 people

Location: Falmouth

Pennant Cottage wins the award for having one of the best views of all these sea view cottages in Cornwall.

I know I’d have a hard time pulling myself away from that terrace, that’s for sure!

However, if you do venture inside, you’ll be met by cosy decor and views through every window.

The cottage sleeps four people across a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom and also houses a bathroom and an open-plan living and kitchen area.

13. Porthia Blue

balcony-outside-porthia-blue-apartment-near-st-ives

Price per week: From £640 for 4 people

Location: 1.3 miles SE of St Ives

Porthia Blue is one of my favourite Cornwall cottages with sea views.

The fabulous view from this contemporary first-floor apartment stretches from Carbis Bay to St Ives and Godrevy.

You can enjoy the view from one of the balconies or the large garden shared between the apartments.

As for the apartment itself, it’s modern and is well-appointed with everything you could need for a luxurious self-catering stay.

You’ll be left wanting for nothing!

14. Triton

living-room-in-triton-cottage-in-porthleven

Price per week: From £621 for 2 people

Location: Porthleven

Triton is one of the most beautifully decorated sea view cottages in Cornwall.

The stylish property is filled to the brim with Scandi decor, creating a calming, romantic environment for you and your partner to escape to.

Cuddle up to your loved one by the warming electric wood-burner, while admiring the ocean views through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Downstairs, you’ll find a lovely double bedroom and en-suite where you can continue to enjoy those sweet sea views!

15. Beach Cottage

living-room-in-beach-cottage-in-cadgwith

Price per week: From £518 for 2 people

Location: Cadgwith

If dramatic views are your thing, then you’ll be rushing to book a stay at Beach Cottage.

Perfectly perched just a few steps above the Cornish coastline, you’re never too far from beautiful views and fresh ocean air in this cottage.

However, even if the weather isn’t on your side (this is England, after all), you’ll be able to enjoy the views through the living room’s glass doors.

So grab a cuppa, settle down on the sofa, and get ready to while away the hours in this little slice of paradise.

16. Erica

erica-cottage-in-kingsand-cornwall-sea-view-cottages

Price per week: From £518 for 4 people

Location: Kingsand

Erica is pretty much the textbook definition of cosy and characterful.

Set over four floors and sleeping four people, this circa 17th-century cottage is filled to the brim with charming quirks.

We’re talking exposed beams and brick walls, steep open-tread stairs, a toasty wood-burning stove, and so much more…

And luckily for you, Erica has the views to match!

Head out onto one of the two beachside terraces to admire the view of Kingsand, all the way to Plymouth Sound and Dartmoor in the distance.

17. Kinsale

kinsale-cottage-on-sunny-day-in-cadgwith

Price per week: From £612 for 6 people

Location: Cadgwith

Kinsale is a pretty, detached thatched cottage that looks like it was plucked straight out of a fairytale.

It has all the telltale signs of a characterful property, including exposed stone walls, low beams, window seats, stained glass windows, and a huge inglenook fireplace.

The wood burner is perfect for a chilly evening after a long day on the beach, and it adds a lovely cosy vibe to the living room.

In summer, be sure to enjoy the front patio and the steep, terraced rear garden for amazing views across the cove to the sea beyond.

18. The Loft

kitchen-and-living-room-in-the-loft-cottage-in-coverack

Price per week: From £625 for 2 people

Location: Coverack

From its thatched roof to its gorgeous modern interior, The Loft is the ultimate romantic bolthole for two.

It marries modern features like a coffee pod machine and a cosy electric log-effect fire with the charm and character of a historic cottage.

It’s so beautiful that you’ll never want to leave.

However, if you do choose to venture out, The Loft is conveniently situated right on Coverack harbour, so you can rest assured that good eateries and views are never more than a few steps away.

19. 3 Harbour Court

living-room-in-3-harbour-court-apartment-in-portscatho

Price per week: From £421 for 2 people

Location: Portscatho

Imagine sitting at that breakfast bar with your morning coffee or cup of tea in hand, watching the waves roll by…

Sounds pretty idyllic, doesn’t it?

With its modern decor, beautiful views and super king-size bed, 3 Harbour Court is the perfect romantic getaway for two.

The question isn’t ‘Should I book a stay here?’ but more ‘Where should I have breakfast? In bed, at the breakfast bar or on the private balcony?’.

The options are endless!

20. Lowenna

kitchen-in-lowenna-apartment-in-coverack

Price per week: From £425 for 2 people

Location: Coverack

Lowenna offers dramatic views over the Lizard peninsula which you can enjoy from the comfort of your modern kitchen and living area.

The well-equipped apartment benefits from a king-size bed, luxurious bathroom and all the other mod cons you’d expect from a self-catering holiday home.

You’ll find Lowenna on the second floor of the former Headland Hotel which means there are private grounds that you’re free to explore.

We’re talking private gardens, a tennis court, and even a pretty woodland area!

21. Harbour Light

harbour-light-cottage-in-boscastle-cornwall-sea-view-cottages

Price per week: From £580 for 4 people

Location: Boscastle

The sea views from Harbour Light are some of my favourites of all these Cornwall sea view cottages.

And in the living area, you’re in the perfect spot to people-watch everyone enjoying themselves out on the harbour.

However, the apartment warrants a stay in and of itself.

It benefits from a stylish open-plan living area, two big bedrooms, a modern shower room, and a lovely sunroom leading out to a Greek-inspired courtyard.

22. Goofyfoot

patio-outside-goofyfoot-cottage-in-st-agnes

Price per week: From £1406 for 8 people

Location: St Agnes

Perfectly placed on the cliffs of Trevaunance Cove, Goofyfoot commands some of the best sea views in all of Cornwall.

The entire cottage is designed to take full advantage of the views, whether you choose to admire them from the living area, the kitchen, or the decked terrace.

Outside, you’ll not only find the terrace (alternatively known as the ultimate sunset spot!) but you’ll also discover a tiered garden, a barbeque area, and an alfresco dining area.

Inside, expect plenty more luxuries including a freestanding bathtub big enough for two.

Talk about romantic!

23. Rame Head Lookout

rame-head-lookout-cottage-cornwall-sea-view-cottages

Price per week: From £649 for 2 people

Location: 2.8 miles SE of Whitsand Bay

Rame Head Lookout is one of the more unique sea view cottages in Cornwall, which instantly makes it one of my favourites.

If you want to escape from the world then this is the perfect place to do it as this holiday home is isolated high on a clifftop, surrounded by nothing but open land.

Add to this a bubbling hot tub and an interior styled to perfection, and you’re really onto a winner with this one.

Watch the sunset from the hot tub before retreating to the comfort of the cosy wood burner for the rest of the evening.

This is one very special coastal escape that you won’t forget in a hurry!

24. Chynhalls Farm House

chynhalls-farm-house-on-sunny-day-in-coverack

Price per week: From £1153 for 7 people

Location: Coverack

I fell hopelessly in love with Chynhalls Farm House the moment I laid eyes on it and I’m sure it’s going to have the same effect on you.

The farmhouse is immediately impressive from the outside but it gets even better once you’ve stepped foot inside.

From the beams and sloping ceilings to the fireplaces and oil-fired Aga, the property is bursting with character.

And luckily for you, there’s no shortage of spots from which to soak up those sweet sea views either.

A quick walk along the lane takes you to the edge of the cliff but the farmhouse also has decking and a sheltered courtyard with a wonderful outlook of the sea.

25. Sea View House

balcony-of-sea-view-house-in-marazion

Price per week: From £606 for 8 people

Location: 1.1 miles W of Marazion

Sea View House has one of the most iconic views of these Cornwall sea view cottages.

Looking out on none other than the mighty St Michael’s Mount, the cottage certainly lives up to its name.

Sleeping up to eight people, Sea View House is one of the best options for a larger family or group of friends.

My favourite part of the house is the floor-to-ceiling windows and mezzanine level in the open-plan living room, aiding the feeling of spaciousness in the property.

26. 2 Glendorgal

balcony-of-2-glendorgal-house-near-newquay

Price per week: From £627 for 7 people

Location: 1.2 miles NE of Newquay

Last but by no means least, we have 2 Glendorgal, a two-storey house situated within the private 17-acre grounds of the Glendorgal Hotel.

The house benefits from a balcony where you can sit back and relax, enjoying the views of Porth beach in the distance.

Inside, the property is just as lovely with three bedrooms, a family shower room, an open-plan living area and a kitchen for your group to spread yourselves across.

Bagsy the master with en-suite!

So that concludes this round-up of the 26 best sea view cottages in Cornwall – and what a selection you’ve got here!

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway for two or a big family break, I’m sure there’s something on this list that has caught your eye.

All that’s left to do is to book your trip and get ready for a staycation like no other!
