by

Planning a glamping trip?

Well, there aren’t many better places to go glamping in Ireland than in Clare.

The county is home to over twenty different glamping sites, each completely different to the last, so it’d be impossible to not find an accommodation option that you’ll fall madly in love with.

And luckily, I’m here to share with you the best of the bunch.

So from glamping pods and shepherds huts to yurts and bell tents, here are 21 amazing glamping holidays in Clare.

1. Burren Horse Truck

family-eating-outside-burren-glamping-horse-truck

Price per night: From €120 for 6 people

Location: Clós Na Heaglaise, nr Ennistimon

Let’s kick this post off with one of my all-time favourite places to go glamping in Clare: Burren Horse Truck.

If you want to stay somewhere seriously unique, then this is it.

The surprisingly spacious glamping truck comprises a wood-burning stove, two double beds, a twin bed, and an ensuite shower room.

However, you don’t just book a stay here for the accommodation – you book it for the whole farm experience!

From a full Irish breakfast from their farm to meeting pigs, cows, donkeys, hens, and more, this is a stay that both adults and children can get behind.

What guests say: “Eva and Stephen’s place is a dream come true. They have literally thought of everything and go above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable and well-fed. The breakfast option provided should not be missed; Eva’s authentic Irish breakfast is absolutely divine. We will definitely be back to this magical and beautiful place that amazingly made us feel right at home.”

2. Beds of Silk Shepherds Huts

beds-of-silk-shepherds-hut-with-outdoor-seating

Price per night: From €119 for 2 people

Location: Labasheeda, nr Kilrush

Home to three shepherds huts, each as lovely as the last, Beds of Silk is probably the most luxurious glamping site in Clare.

I mean, if you think the shepherds hut above looks good from the outside, wait till you see inside!

These are some seriously luxurious interiors.

From the rain shower and the natural stone wash hand basin in the ensuite to the beautifully designed bedroom and kitchenette, there’s so much to love about this place.

What guests say: “The huts are so spacious and have everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is fully functional and the Nespresso machine was a welcome find! Powerful shower with hot water at all times and the beds are so comfortable! The setting is so peaceful and it was lovely to wake up to the sound of the stream running beside the hut.”

3. Killaloe Luxury Pod

Price per night: From €199 for 2 people

Location: Garranroe, nr Limerick

With breathtaking views of the River Shannon, Killaloe Luxury Pod is one of the most peaceful glamping holidays with a hot tub in Ireland.

And you’ll definitely find peace and serenity while soaking in the outdoor hot tub in front of these unparalleled views!

Inspired by a traditional timber-framed holiday chalet, yet equipped with state of the art amenities, the pod is both close to nature but luxurious at the same time.

It’s fitted with a handcrafted double bed, Egyptian Cotton luxury bed linen, a fully-equipped kitchen, a satellite TV and a bathroom with a power shower.

And as if that wasn’t enough, they even provide a delicious complimentary breakfast too.

What guests say: “This place is so nice! Everything is kitted out so well perfect for a relaxing weekend away! The hot tub is so relaxing and so peaceful at night looking up at the stars. I loved the little touches such as the champagne and chocolate! The pod itself was so cool little things stood out like the tv could be adjusted with a remote, the curtains were electric, the ground coffee and nightgowns! Absolutely gorgeous & spotless place!”

4. Pops Dream Cabin

Price per night: From €150 for 2 people

Location: Williamstown Harbour, Lough Derg

I think it’s pretty much impossible to not fall madly in love with Pops Dream Cabin.

It has the word ‘dream’ in its name and dreamy is exactly what it is.

I’m not sure I could conjure up a more idyllic scene than relaxing on the private veranda overlooking Lough Derg at sunset.

(With a glass of wine and a book in hand, of course!)

The boathouse itself is fully self-contained with a full kitchen, bathroom, and mezzanine bed.

And outside you’ll find seating for two and a small BBQ for you to cook up a feast!

If you want to go glamping in Clare, I would highly recommend this place.

What guests say: “Well Barry’s converted boathouse is honestly beautiful, all the wee touches, warm welcoming and so so beautiful. There’s a full kitchen with an oven too which was great, you know it’s fancy when there’s pink salt to use. 11/10 and the most beautiful Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. Barry was also a lovely host and super helpful.”

5. Doonbeg Glamping Pods

two-doonberg-glamping-pods-on-gravel

Price per night: From €80 for 4 people

Location: Poulnagun, nr Percy French

If you want to stay somewhere with amazing countryside and beach views, amazing countryside and beach views are exactly what you’ll find at Doonbeg Glamping Pods.

Set just a stone’s throw (300m to be exact) from a beautiful blue flag beach, the pods provide the perfect base from which to reconnect with nature.

But if you need to shelter from the rain (this is Ireland, after all!), there’s plenty of space for you to do so.

Both pods have a double bed if you fancy a getaway from the kids, but they also include a sofa bed if you can’t!

What guests say: “The pod is great for catching the sun in the evening. Beautiful setting with the donkeys, short walk down to the beach. The pod was spotless with everything we needed: fridge, wall hooks, table and chairs out the front. The bathroom fully kitted out like a home bathroom. Jo was a brilliant host!”

6. Doolin Mongolian Yurt

interior-of-doolin-mongolian-yurt

Price per night: From €100 for 6 people

Location: Doolin, nr Ennistimon

Set in its own private area located overlooking a river, Doolin Mongolian Yurt is one of my top three places to go glamping in Clare.

I mean, have you seen the photo above? Need I say anymore?

Not only does this traditional Mongolian yurt benefit from cosy, beautiful interiors but it also has a stargazing window, so you can take in the starry night skies from the comfort of your own bed.

Romantic? I think so.

However, if you want to bring along more than just your partner, the yurt sleeps up to six people so there will be no issues fitting all the family or your friends in!

What guests say: “It was warm, spacious and had everything that you could possibly need. Ideal for a family of five or more. Showering facilities were five-star – very clean, warm and easy to use. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The children really loved the experience of glamping and can’t wait to do it again.”

7. Doolin Indian Tipi

interior-of-white-doolin-glamping-tipi

Price per night: From €65 for 2 people

Location: Doolin, nr Ennistimon

While the yurt has to be my favourite place to stay at Doolin Glamping, the site is also home to some cheaper, alternative options. Doolin Indian Tipi is one of those options and boy, is it a good option!

Set in its own private area near the entrance to the park, this authentic American Indian tipi is ideal for couples looking for a romantic retreat away.

Inside you’ll find a double bed, as well as an electric hook up, lighting, and an electric stove.

What guests say: “Lovely tipis with heating, double bed, electric sockets, and double duvets if you get cold. 2km walk to the pier and three pubs/restaurants nearby. Hot showers and the staff are really friendly! Great for something different. Surrounded by beautiful fields!”

8. Doolin Bell Tents

interior-of-doolin-glamping-emperor-bell-tent

Price per night: From €70 for 2 people

Location: Doolin, nr Ennistimon

If you want to stay somewhere cosy, you’re in luck! Cosy is probably the best word to describe Doolin Bell Tents.

With a plethora of soft furnishings to cuddle up to and keep you warm, there’s no chance of feeling the cold here.

Plus, each tent is raised off the ground on timber stands so you won’t get wet either!

And with an electric hook-up to power the bedside lamp, electric heaters and charge phones, you’re not going entirely off-grid here.

A great option for those who want to go glamping in style.

What guests say: “A huge thank you to all at Doolin Glamping, from the warm welcome on arrival to birthday bunting and balloons, we could not ask for more. Our bell tent was superb and so comfortable. Liked the tea and coffee and milk for guests. We had an amazing time, my daughters thoroughly enjoyed themselves as did myself and my older sister.”

9. Doolin Vintage Caravan

white-mini-vintage-caravan-at-doolin-glamping

Price per night: From €45 for one person or €60 for two people

Location: Doolin, nr Ennistimon

The last glamping option at Doolin Glamping is their cosy and compact Vintage Caravan.

The lovingly restored vintage caravan is a great alternative accommodation option for solo travellers (or couples looking to get all up in each other’s business!).

Inside, the caravan is furnished with a vintage radio, comfy duvets, bunting and lots of pillows.

And of course, there’s a queen-size double bed for you to cosy up in too!

Outside, the situation is just as cosy with a table and chairs and a fire pit to provide warmth late into the evening.

What guests say: “We stayed in the caravan. It was small inside but was what we expected from the photos. The bed was extremely comfortable and warm. Even though it was a very windy night we slept soundly. Nice location, within walking distance to all amenities in the village. Facilities were great, we were provided with towels and the showers were warm and clean.”

10. Kilbane Glamping Pod

two-kilbane-glamping-pods-in-field-by-forest

Price per night: From €80 for 4 people

Location: Kilbane, nr Limerick

Kilbane Glamping Pod is one of my favourite places to go glamping in Clare.

There are so many reasons that make this the case but shall we start off with those views? They’re pretty good, right?

If you’re after scenic surroundings, you won’t find scenery much more beautiful than what’s around this pod.

However, inside the pod is just as appealing!

With a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, an ensuite, a double bed, and a double sofa bed, you couldn’t ask for much more.

And of course, you’ve also got a spacious patio from which to soak up the amazing views!

What guests say: “We absolutely loved our stay. Áine was so welcoming! The location is perfect, a real retreat surrounded by fields and hills. The sky was so clear, even during winter it was lovely to sit outside and admire the view, shooting stars and all! It was lovely and cosy, with everything needed in terms of towels and washing up liquid etc. The oil heater heated the pod really well and the bed was very comfy.”

11. Emlagh Pods

three-emlagh-glamping-pods-on-gravel

Price per night: From €90 for 4 people

Location: Lisdeen, nr Percy French

Emlagh Pods may be a little closer together than some other options on this list but that doesn’t make them any less special.

In fact, once you’ve walked through the door, the rest of the world will suddenly feel a million miles away.

Each pod sleeps up to four people across a double bed and two single beds, or a double bed and a sofa bed.

And in each pod, you’ll also find an ensuite shower room, so there will be no late-night nipping out to the loo in the rain here!

Nearby there’s a separate kitchen room for you to use during your stay.

What guests say: “The owners couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Excellent spot for children, with lots of space to run around, and feed the pigs, sheep, hens and ducks. The glamping pods are exceptionally clean and also the communal kitchen is kept immaculate. The fridge is stocked up with milk, butter, jam, marmalade and also free hen & duck eggs provided!”

12. Bigfoot Yurts

green-bigfoot-yurt-with-decking-by-trees

Price per night: From €44 for 4 people

Location: Knockjames, nr Clondornet

Okay, I absolutely LOVE Bigfoot Yurts.

Firstly, because they’re one of only two types of yurt accommodation you’ll find in all of Clare, so that’s got to make them pretty special, right?

Secondly, because these 16ft yurts are ridiculously spacious. And thirdly, because they’re really cheap too! €44 for four people?

It’s pretty much a no-brainer, right?

But if that wasn’t enough to persuade you, they are also situated within an organic orchard in a private spot surrounded by trees and a small stream.

Spend your days exploring the grounds before cosying up around the campfire toasting marshmallows and stargazing.

What guests say: “The yurt is like a mini piece of paradise – beautiful decor inside, very comfortable sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen cabin allowing us to cook several meals and have tea and coffee on demand – and our own “tree loo” which was great! The campfire was beautiful and Nick was very generous to provide lots of wood to keep it going. Also access to fridge, freezer and shower, as well.”

13. Shannon Estuary Pods

shannon-estuary-pod-at-top-of-garden

Price per night: From €60 for 2 people or €65 for 3 people

Location: Liscullane, nr Crossderry

Shannon Estuary is one of the most famous glamping sites in Clare, and for good reason!

First, let’s kick off with the Shannon Estuary Pods which are oh-so-cosy and comfortable.

There are two pods to choose from, both of which comprise a double bed and a single bed, as well as a small seating area.

But promise me you won’t spend too much time inside, will you?

The sunsets are too good to miss!

On-site you’ll find plenty of amenities, such as BBQs, a pizza oven, and fire pits for toasting marshmallows, as well as shower and toilet facilities.

What guests say: “Stayed at this amazing place for one night and I couldn’t be happier giving it five stars. From start to finish it was amazing and the place was so clean. The host was very friendly and was happy to share his knowledge of the area. Will 100% be back for a weekend away again. A big thank you to the amazing host.”

14. Shannon Estuary Bell Tents

shannon-estuary-bell-tent-on-gravel

Price per night: From €50 for 2 people or €60 for 4 people

Location: Liscullane, nr Crossderry

Next up we have Shannon Estuary Bell Tents, a slightly cheaper, alternative accommodation option to the pods.

Inside you’ll only find your bed (or beds if there are four of you!), but what the tents lack in amenities, they more than makeup for in your experience.

Sleeping under the stars doesn’t get much better than this and you’re bound to get one of the best night’s sleep of your life here.

Fresh air, incredible views and a proper roof over your head? You can’t beat it!

What guests say: “Honestly one of the most amazing trips I have ever had! Frank is one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever met in a long time. The place is wonderful, the views are amazing, the tents are beautiful, spotless and the beds are so comfortable. There are even extra blankets in case it’s cold. The kitchen is amazing, fully equipped, all you need to bring is food.”

15. Lahinch Bay View Pod

exterior-of-lahinch-bay-view-pod-with-outdoor-seating

Price per night: From €101 for 2 people

Location: Lahinch Road, nr Ennis

Lahinch Bay View Pod is one of the most spacious and well-equipped accommodation options on this list of glamping holidays in Clare.

It comprises an ensuite bedroom with a king-sized bed and a living area and kitchen with a Nespresso machine.

However, despite the interior being seriously luxurious, the real reason to book a stay here is for the beach.

Yep, that’s right, beach bums and water babies gather around because this pod is situated just a few miles away from the longest sand beaches in Ireland.

In fact, the pod itself overlooks the beautiful Lahinch Beach.

And who can say no to beach views?

What guests say: “Our stay in the pod was perfect! So clean, so comfortable and so cosy. The views are amazing looking over the beach. The pictures don’t even do it justice, so much better in real life. Would definitely recommend this little pod and we will definitely be rebooking during the summer.”

16. Atlantic Haven Shepherds Hut

brown-and-blue-atlantic-haven-shepherds-hut-with-outdoor-seating

Price per night: From €85 for 2 people

Location: Cregg, nr Ballyvaughan

Atlantic Haven Shepherds Hut is one of my absolute favourite places to go glamping in Clare.

I love shepherds huts as it is but when you combine them with views like these?

Well, you’re onto a real winner there!

You can enjoy the countryside views from the comfort of your hut or from the decking or hanging seat outside.

(I’d recommend having a glass of wine or a bottle of beer with you to make it even better!)

However, if you just want to hide away from the world inside, there are worse places to do it.

Inside the luxurious and well-equipped hut, you’ll find a cosy double bed, sofa, kitchenette, and ensuite bathroom.

What guests say: “Had an amazing stay here. Beautiful little spot, very cosy. Amazing view out onto the sea, where you can watch the sunset and sunrise. The location is perfect. Very friendly and welcoming on arrival and we had everything we needed. Fresh bread along with butter and jam was a lovely touch, along with an electric blanket for cold nights. Very clean and tidy too.”

17. Rainbow Pod

exterior-of-the-rainbow-pod-with-flowers-outside

Price per night: From €75 for 4 people

Location: Percy French

Clare sure does love its glamping pods, doesn’t it? And Rainbow Pod is just as good as the rest!

The pod contains everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including a double bed, sofa bed, ensuite, microwave, fridge, and Wi-Fi.

There’s also a welcome pack of milk, bread, tea, coffee and local jams awaiting your arrival!

And even better, the pod serves as the perfect base for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful and dramatic Clare countryside.

Just four miles from the nearest beach, the world is your oyster here!

What guests say: “The pod is absolutely amazing. Small and clean, really comfortable and so cosy. We slept really well while listening to the heavy rain outside. The pod has all you need and Alison and Steve left us a small breakfast. Definitely recommend a stay here and I hope to be back soon.”

18. Pure Camping Cabins

double-bed-inside-alder-cabin-at-pure-camping

Price per night: From €80 for 2 people, €100 for 4 people, €110 for 6 people

Location: Querrin, nr Percy French

Pure Camping is another of the most well-known glamping sites in Clare. First, let’s take a look at their Off-Grid Wooden Cabins.

A great option for a family or group of friends, the cosy cabins sleep up to six people, though they also make a romantic retreat for two looking for a little more space to spread yourselves across.

Each cabin has its own loo, some tea-light lanterns, and a stove to keep you warm.

The cabins may be a bit back-to-basics but it’s in the best way possible as they allow you to disconnect from modern life.

(Though the on-site sauna also helps with that too!)

What guests say: “It was a lovely change from hotels and offered much more freedom as there was a trail into the woods right outside our door and a small secluded beach a few minutes away. The open kitchen proved to be a great opportunity to talk to some of the foreign tourists and the nights spent by the fire pit were magical. I loved staying here.”

19. Pure Camping Bell Tents

pure-camping-bell-tent-with-camping-chairs-on-decking

Price per night: From €70 for 2 people or €85 for 4 people

Location: Querrin, nr Percy French

At Pure Camping, you’ll also find an amazing selection of Bell Tents that I just can’t get enough of.

These three beautiful five-metre glamping tents, ‘Oak’, ‘Ash’, and ‘Hazel’, provide spacious sleeping space for up to four people.

(But again, they could totally serve as romantic accommodation for two!)

Each tent also has its own deck and fire pit, so you can lounge outside to your heart’s content.

If you want to cook up a feast, the camper’s kitchen is just a stone’s throw away, or you can try your hand at making your own pizza in the wood-fired pizza oven.

What guests say: “What a treat to wake up to the view of the sea from a double bed in a spacious bell tent. This site has just what you need to get the camping experience without the hard work. A little BBQ outside the tent to cook on or just enjoy the fire was lovely into the dusk of the evening. Tents are situated to give privacy and enough space.”

20. Nagles Glamping Pods

nagles-glamping-pod-in-grassy-field

Price per night: From €25 for 2 people or €31 for 2 adults and 2 children

Location: Doolin, nr Loughlowne

For the most pocket-friendly glamping holiday in Clare, book a stay in one of Nagles’ Glamping Pods.

Setting you and your partner back only €25 a night, booking a stay here really is a no-brainer.

However, despite the pods being cheap, they’re more than just cheerful!

There are three glamping pods on-site, and they all benefit from a double bed, a sofa bed, a kitchenette, an ensuite, electricity and lighting.

You really can’t go wrong here at all, especially when you can enjoy views of the Cliffs of Moher right from the comfort of your deck.

What guests say: “Came here expecting to camp but hubby had surprised me and booked a pod. Incredible experience. Home away from home, absolutely mint condition, beautifully spacious, everything you need and more – beautifully maintained grounds, very clean communal areas. Very helpful staff, we were able to order fresh, warm croissants and baguettes the night before to be collected in the morning.”

21. Jenga Pod

jenga-pod-by-field-on-sunny-day

Price per night: From €75 for 2 people

Location: Cross, nr Percy French

Last but absolutely by no means least, we have Jenga Pod, one of my favourite glamping pods in Clare.

Set at the top of a field, commanding amazing views across Clare’s countryside, there aren’t many views more scenic than these.

It really feels like you’ve got the whole world to yourself.

The self-contained pod houses a double bed, sofa, ensuite, TV, and a kitchenette with a microwave, mini-fridge, kettle, toaster, and a Dolce Gusto coffee machine.

(Oh and a really great DVD and board game collection for when the weather’s not on your side!)

What guests say: “The Jenga Pod was my favourite stay of all time. Jenny and Gary are wonderful hosts and they had left such lovely homely touches such as DVD player, coffee/tea and even board games. The location was superb and just a stone’s throw from some sandy beaches and cliff views. The pod was super cosy and the shower was unreal not to mention the extremely comfortable bed.”
