Starting a blog from scratch can seem daunting at first. How the hell do I even make a website? What the FCK is SEO? WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OPTIONS?! Yeah, I get it. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. I didn’t even know that you could make money…
When it comes to my priorities in life and what I choose to spend my money on, travel is my number one. Being frugal is second nature to me – it might as well be my middle name. I’ll often be the one to say to my friends “sorry I can’t afford that” when I am asked if I wanna go for a night out or out for a meal.
Okay so I’ve never properly travelled the world. I’ve never had a spiritual Gap Yah experience. I love travel but, to be honest, I haven’t done that much of it. I’m not going to tell you that you’ll find yourself abroad – but if you have then good for you! However, that isn’t to say that I don’t learn anything from my travels.
I love investing in travel accessories: items which make travelling just that lil’ bit easier and a lil’ less stressful. ‘Cause despite what Instagram leads us to believe, travel can actually be a source of stress. Whilst this stereotype may be somewhat true, luxury cruises can totally coincide with adventure. Cruises allow you to combine the comfort […]
Here at Faraway Lucy you know I’m all for making travel more unique, quirky and spontaneous. It gets you out of your comfort zone (especially when you’re a serial planner like me) and can be a lot more fun and rewarding. It also allows you to be irresponsible whilst you still can – I’m looking at […]
Let’s face it, long-haul flights are kind of a pain in the ass. Regardless of whether you are flying alone or flying with babies, they are not too fun. Whenever anyone asks me what superpower I’d have, of course, it’d be teleportation. Duh. The only long-haul flight I’d ever been on was to Australia when […]
The number one question I get asked about my blog is how on earth I run a travel blog when I’m studying full-time in Exeter for most of the year. Because you have to travel full time to be a travel blogger, right?! Nuh-uh, sista! Whether you manage a travel blog when you work full time […]
