Price per night: From £310.50 for 8 people

Location: Shotley Bridge, Consett

I think it’s only right to kick off this list of lodges with hot tubs in Northumberland with a bang.

And that’s certainly what I’m doing with Newlands Lodges.

Set within a 300-acre private family estate ensuring peace and tranquillity for your special getaway, there are two lodges to choose from: Cedar and Maple.

They are both as luxurious as each other.

Anticipate a private one-acre woodland garden, an eight-person hot tub, three Smart TVs, and ridiculously modern interiors.

This is luxury at its finest!

What guests say: “Well what can I say. Don’t even know where to start, hosts were amazing so easy going and helpful. House is beautiful, even better than pictures. Everything about it was 10/10 we are already looking to rebook for next year. Beds are soooooo comfortable, big fluffy pillows and sheets, they even provided slippers. Ample showers, baths for the whole group. Beautiful kitchen which was fully equipped. Hot tub was beautiful and perfect for eight people.”

2. Landal Kielder Waterside Lodges

beech-platinum-stars-lodge-at-landal-kielder-waterside

Price per night: From £61 for 4 people

Location: Kielder Water and Forest Park

If you want good views, then you need to book a stay at Landal Kielder Waterside Lodges, which is home to some of my favourite lodges with hot tubs in Northumberland.

With a huge array of lodges to choose from – 22 to be exact – there’s something for everyone here.

Plus, the lodges are set within Kielder Water, the largest man-made lake in Northern Europe and one of the best places to visit in Northumberland.

This gives you the unique opportunity to run, cycle or wander around to your heart’s content.

So if you want to stay somewhere with plenty to do, this is your best bet!

What guests say: “We had a fantastic stay from start to finish. Genuinely friendly, helpful staff, great lodges which were clean and modern, with lots of little extra touches which firstly are very handy and secondly make it special. It’s clearly been very well thought out. Lots to do in the local area via a short drive, or just nice walks out from the lodge itself.”

3. The Secret Garden Cabin

Price per night: From £129 for 4 people

Location: Felton, Alnwick

The Secret Garden Cabin is a secret you’re going to want to keep for yourself!

Inside, the lodge is well-equipped and cosy with full central heating and an American-style fridge freezer with an ice dispenser.

Outside, the story is much the same, with a hot tub, and front and back decking areas.

Set beneath the pine trees, one of the decking areas even leads to a secret woodland area!

What guests say: “The Secret Garden is a lovely little cabin on a bigger site. The place was lovely and clean and there was wine and biscuits waiting for us when we arrived. The hot tub was ready to go and we all loved relaxing in that. The Crazy Horse Saloon on site was fun for drinks and bingo on Wednesday night.”

4. The Gate Lodge Cottage

Price per night: From £162 for 2 people

Location: Chatton, Wooler

Intimate and romantic, The Gate Lodge Cottage is a hot tub haven for two!

My favourite thing about the cottage is its Spa style garden with a decked area which has a Jacuzzi, built-in BBQ, comfortable furniture and a large covered sumptuous day bed.

Fortunately, the luxury continues inside with a cosy log burner, luxury toiletries, fluffy robes and slippers, and a Nespresso coffee machine.

What guests say: “The lodge was extremely relaxing and exactly what we were looking for to get away and chill for a weekend. The hot tub was perfect for stargazing, and on a clear night, you can actually see the milky way which was incredible. I would recommend the lodge for anyone wanting to get out into the quiet countryside and switch off for a while.”

5. The Getaway Log Cabin

Price per night: From £225 for 6 people

Location: Eshott, Felton

Get away from it all at The Getaway Log Cabin, a tranquil oasis surrounded by trees.

This is one of the best lodges with hot tubs in Northumberland for those looking to surround themselves in nature, without compromising on any modern luxuries.

The Getaway allows you to experience cabin living with a huge hot tub and modern interiors.

Just imagine sipping on a freshly brewed coffee on your veranda listening to the birds chirping.

Now doesn’t that sound idyllic?

What guests say: “If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway then this is perfect! The area has lots of great places for walking the dogs. We loved exploring and then chilling out in the huge hot tub. We can’t wait to go back. Patrick is a fantastic host and is just a phone call away if you need anything.”

6. Clear Sky Lodges

Price per night: From £77 for 4 people

Location: Kielder, Hexham

Clear Sky Lodge Park is set in 45 acres of the peaceful Ravenshill Forest in the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park.

This makes it the perfect place to experience a true dark sky.

Stargazing from your hot tub? Yes, please!

There are four properties available to rent, three of which include a hot tub!

This means there’s something for everyone; however, my favourite property is Kielder Cottage, a converted stone stable dates back to 1848.

What guests say: “Beautiful lodge with updated amenities such as a smart TV and WiFi. (We were worried coming into the forest we really were going to be off the map completely) the hot tub was great with stunning views, and we even had one night under the stars before the rain came! Would visit again 100%.”

7. The Drey Cabin

Price per night: From £136 for 6 people

Location: Otterburn, Nr Bellingham

The Drey Cabin has to be one of my top five favourite lodges with hot tubs in Northumberland.

I just can’t get enough of the interior decor!

Beautifully renovated, the cabin benefits from an open plan living and dining area, a modern country-style kitchen and three gorgeous bedrooms.

No matter what the weather’s like you’re guaranteed a good stay here with a contemporary wood-burning fire, large flatscreen smart TV and a jumbo corner sofa to keep you cosy and entertained.

And, of course, the patio doors open out onto extended decking with a sunken hot tub!

What guests say: “The lodge was an absolute dream and is decorated and equipped to such a gorgeous and high standard, there was literally nothing we could fault. The grounds have a lovely lake and picnic area near the stream and the woodlands bring lots of tranquillity. If you prefer to stay snuggled up by the log fire, there are a couple of puzzles and games to play at your own leisure that is a really lovely touch. The hot tub topped it all off perfectly and was maintained by groundsmen every day.”

8. Huntercrook Lodge

The lodge consists of four ensuite bedrooms, all with patio doors that open out to the patio area.

Here you’ll find your private hot tub and seating areas, ideal for long summer evenings drinking the night away.

The modern shaker-style kitchen is another highlight with its range cooker, wine fridge, breakfast bar area, and dining table.

What guests say: “What an absolute gem of a place! I would wholeheartedly recommend hunter crook lodge. Everything was deep cleaned/sterilised when we arrived. The place is very spacious and homely/cosy. The hot tub is amazing! The hosts are so friendly and thoughtful, they really take care of you. Julia even baked us some cupcakes!”

Price per night: From £162 for 2 people

Location: Felton, Northumberland

Set amidst beautiful farmland in the heart of Northumberland, Saddler’s Cabin, offers a luxurious escape from the everyday.

The cabin has been beautifully decorated, with real attention to detail, and boasts a wood-fired hot tub and a gorgeous bed that I would just love to melt into.

However, one of the real highlights is the welcome hamper full of delicious local produce, including everything from farm fresh eggs to gourmet chocolate.

Oh and don’t forget the complimentary bottle of Prosecco!

What guests say: “Our cabin at Woodland Chase was amazing! Supplies left out for us were so so tasty… The hot tub was a dream and the log burner made us so warm and toasty on a cold day! Thank you so much for making our little trip away an absolute pleasure!”

10. Woodland Chase Treehouse

the-treehouse-at-woodland-chase-with-large-decking

Price per night: From £194 for 2 people

Location: Felton, Northumberland

The luxurious Woodland Chase Treehouse is one of my favourite places to go glamping in Northumberland.

Climb the spiral staircase and pass the wood-fired hot tub to reach this magical home away from home.

The treehouse houses everything from underfloor heating and a Bose speaker to electric Velux blinds and The White Company toiletries, towels and bathrobes.

And despite all this luxury, the treehouse still feels rustic and authentic.

Just the way we like it!

What guests say: “The lit pathway leads to the most amazing sight a fairy-lit stairway up to the cabin… it was truly magical. On entering the treehouse apart from the obvious cosiness the first thing that hit me was the gorgeous smell from the diffusers, the house was lit with candles, tea lights creating a romantic setting. A beautiful hamper waiting or us with a bottle of prosecco as well as handmade chocs and a bouquet!”

11. Vindomora Country Lodges

What guests say: “As always, a pleasure to visit! The lodges never disappoint, spotlessly clean and in all, a real home from home. This is our 3rd visit and certainly not our last. Craig goes over and beyond to make guests feel welcome and is always on hand should ever you need him. The lodges are fully equipped with everything you need, even down to robes for the children, and the hot tubs are just a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day!”

Price per night: From £159 for 7 people

Location: Bamburgh, Northumberland

Restharrow Lodge is without a doubt one of my favourite lodges with hot tubs in Northumberland.

It’s immaculate, modern and luxurious, all without the hefty price tag!

I really cannot begin to describe just how special this stay is.

There’s a modern kitchen and spacious living area with plenty of comfortable sofas, a smart flatscreen TV and a cosy woodburning stove.

However, the highlight of this property is the wrap-around decking with a large corner sofa, as well as a raised decking area with a cedar wood hot tub.

What guests say: “Extremely well designed, very spacious with luxury fittings. Particularly loved the wood burner and hot tub. There is endless hot water for pre and after hot tub showers. Where to start with Settlers Lodge?

From the modern bathroom to the 55″ smart TV to the gorgeous open-plan living space, this is one of the best lodges with hot tubs in Northumberland for a slightly larger group of people.

And while the inside is beautifully decorated, the real attraction is the outdoor space.

The patio doors lead out onto a large balcony area with a sunken spa hot tub and patio furniture.
