Norfolk Shepherds Huts: 25 Amazing Shepherds Huts in Norfolk [2022]

If you haven’t already stayed in a shepherds hut before then you’re in for an absolute treat because they’re a delight!

And luckily for you, Norfolk is home to some of the most beautiful shepherds huts in all of the UK, and I’ve rounded them all up for you.

There are huts by the beach, huts in the forest, and even huts by lakes! And some even come complete with their own hot tub.

So if you’re ready to discover which of these Norfolk shepherds huts you want to book a stay at, read on…

1. Ketteringham Hall Huts

Price per night: From £110 for 2 people

Location: Ketteringham, Wymondham, Norfolk

Set amid thirty-six acres of beautiful grounds at the majestic Ketteringham Hall, nature is at its finest at Ketteringham Hall Huts.

Both of the two huts were beautifully handcrafted in Norfolk to the high standard you see today.

Inside the spacious yet cosy huts, you’ll find a king-sized bed, wood-burning stove and ensuite bathroom, plus a small kitchenette.

However, if you don’t fancy knocking up breakfast yourself, take the short walk to The Orangery Tearoom which serves delicious breakfasts, lunches, and cream teas.

What guests say: “Such a beautiful and tranquil spot! When walking around the grounds, it was great to explore the private areas and you feel that you are the only people about. The hut had all the amenities that we needed and breakfast items were provided by the hosts. The decor of the huts is absolutely amazing and you can tell how much effort the hosts had gone to.”

2. Top Farm Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £160 for 2 people

Location: Marsham, Norfolk

Nestled at the edge of woods in the heart of Norfolk, Top Farm Shepherds Hut is one of my all-time favourite shepherds huts in Norfolk, let alone elsewhere.

It’s colourful, beautifully decorated and a real home away from home.

Inside, you’ll find a sumptuous kingsize bed, corner sofa, wood burner, kitchen and ensuite bathroom.

Not only that but outside there’s a covered outdoor kitchen and bar. Perfect for drinking the night away!

There’s a bottle of prosecco awaiting your arrival after all.

What guests say: “Super clean, stylish and great use of space. The BBQ was great for a warm evening whilst watching the sun go down and the real log burner was my favourite for a cosy evening. Small touches including Prosecco, quality flip flops and nice shower gels, shampoos etc are a real treat! Books, board games and DVDs provided for fun too!”

3. Orchard Hut

Price per night: From £60 for 2 people

Location: Salle, nr Aylsham

For one of the most budget-friendly shepherds huts in Norfolk, book a stay in Orchard Hut.

Tucked away in a peaceful orchard, this gorgeous little hut is the perfect place to unwind from the stresses of modern life.

It’s ridiculously cosy and romantic, with lots of snuggly soft furnishings, a comfortable double bed, and a wood-burning stove.

The romance continues outside of the hut too as old-fashioned roses climb along the wall behind the hut.

Similarly, you’ll find a flower garden is just over the beech hedge.

What guests say: “Idyllic little place, had everything we needed, we had fabulous weather and felt as though we were in the French countryside. The Orchard is completely private, enclosed and safe for our labrador to roam around freely.”

4. Hut-next-the-Sea

Price per night: From £70 for 2 people

Location: Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

Situated on a secluded spot on the coast, Hut-next-the-Sea is one of the Norfolk shepherds huts for those who love the beach.

You’re in walking distance from coastal paths, working fishing boats and chic shops galore.

However, if you just fancy chilling by the hut, you can do that too.

In the sunny garden, relax on the picnic bench or deck chairs while drinking your morning coffee.

The hut is great for all-year-round stays too with its wood burner, heated towel rail and insulation.

What guests say: “Perfect bolt hole for our North Norfolk getaway. The hut is beautiful and has everything you need, the small touches and the ginger biscuits were a lovely and very much appreciated. We loved our nights snuggled up with the log burning roaring, the radio on and a good book.”

5. Wayfarers’ Wood Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £90 for 2 people

Location: Honing, nr North Walsham

The craftsman’s built Wayfarers’ Wood Shepherds Hut is a romantic little bolthole for two.

Set in a private woodland glade, you’ll feel a million miles away from normal life here.

You won’t be sharing the site with anyone. I mean, aside from brown hare, badgers and four species of deer!

The hut is off-grid but don’t worry because it doesn’t lack home comforts.

The hut benefits from solar-powered lighting, a gas hob, and a toasty wood-burning stove, and to top it all off, your stay also includes a delicious welcome breakfast basket full of goodies like croissants, cereal, juice and porridge.

What guests say: “A beautiful shepherds hut tucked away in its own glade, which is a haven for butterflies and bees. The owners were very welcoming and had thought of everything for our stay. The hut is cosy, comfortable and full of excellent little touches.”

6. The Nest Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £65 for 2 people

Location: Buxton, Norfolk

This quaint self-contained shepherds hut has everything you could want to make your stay super special.

The cosy living area boasts a wood-burning stove and a couple of grandfather chairs to cosy up in while watching a DVD on the TV.

And you’ve got to tuck into the mini welcome hamper while you’re at it!

Outside, there’s a small enclosed garden, table, and chairs so you can soak up the sun on those sunnier British days.

What guests say: “Honestly could not fault The Nest! It was cute and cosy which is exactly what we wanted for our little staycation. The facilities exceeded our expectations, the Nest was spotless and the little touches really made it special.”

7. The Good Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £50 for 2 people

Location: Overstrand, Cromer, Norfolk

The Good Shepherds Hut is exactly what it says on the tin: good. But it’s so much more than just ‘good’!

Situated on a secluded plot at the side of the hosts’ property, the hut overlooks flower beds and exotic shrubs that make you feel more immersed in nature than you actually are.

Inside the hut, you’ll find a cosy double bed, log burner and mini-fridge.

And outside there’s a separate heated shower room, small private lawn, fire pit and BBQ.

What guests say: “The Good Shepherd’s Hut is a delightful, quirky, homely place to stay. Mim has been thoughtful providing comforts such as ground coffee, tea and milk, fresh soap in the spacious bathroom, ready laid fires and a small fridge.”

8. Tunstead Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £60 for 2 people

Location: Tunstead, nr Wroxham

Tunstead Shepherds Hut is one of the cutest shepherds huts in Norfolk, and the best bit is that it’ll only set you back £30 a night each!

Both its interior and surroundings are just as beautiful as each other.

So much so that you won’t know where you want to spend the majority of your time.

The inside is oh-so-cosy and inviting, and outside you’ll find a picnic table, and a separate table and chairs where you can sit back and watch the world go by.

What guests say: “This was an amazing dream weekend which we would have loved never to end. The hut is adorable and has all the basics needed for a comfortable stay. The wood burner helped us through the cold nights and made it all very cosy.”

9. Berry Hall Farm Huts

Price per night: From £140 for 2 people

Location: Barton Turf, Norwich, Norfolk

This family-run holiday retreat is home to three gorgeous shepherds huts, each as beautiful as the last.

They all benefit from a kingsize bed, underfloor heating, smart TV, hot tub and more.

And if that wasn’t enough as it is, the hosts also offer a variety of hampers to make your stay extra special.

From a luxury BBQ hamper to a celebration package of a bouquet, chocolates and prosecco, there are plenty of options to choose from.

However, my favourite thing about this shepherds hut is the miles of long hikes, bike rides, fishing, birdwatching, and sailing that are all on your doorstep.

Time to get exploring!

What guests say: “We absolutely loved our stay here! We had high expectations and all were met and more! Our hut was sparkling clean on arrival and was such a lovely, warm and cosy place to stay. We had everything we needed and the hot tub was a brilliant bonus to enjoy the stars at night! There were so many lovely little personal touches from the host.”

10. Range Farm Orchid Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £75 for 3 people

Location: Barmer, nr Docking

Range Farm Orchid Shepherds Hut is so ridiculously cosy that I wouldn’t even mind if it rained during my whole stay.

Well, if the modern heated toilet and shower block wasn’t separate from the hut, that is!

The hut is well-equipped with a traditional handcrafted bed with a luxury memory foam mattress guaranteed to give you a great night’s sleep.

On top of this, there’s also a cast iron wood burner to keep you toasty, tea and coffee making facilities, electrical sockets, lighting, and a fridge with a freezer compartment.

What guests say: “Incredible stay. Pleasantly surprised with the farm’s facilities, everything has been well thought through. Very clean and most importantly the hosts were great. You can tell this is a family run business. Really at the heart of the farm.”

11. Goosewing Hut

Price per night: From £95 for 2 people

Location: Briston, Melton Constable, Norfolk

Set in the most picturesque forest, Goosewing Hut has everything you could need and more for an intimate romantic glamping getaway in Norfolk.

With a cosy kingsize bed to snuggle up in and an induction hob and combination oven microwave to cook up a great glamping feast, this beautifully handcrafted hut really is a home away from home.

However, if you prefer cooking alfresco, head outside to your private BBQ and picnic bench.

What guests say: “Delightful place to stay. Everything is thought of – we didn’t need to ask for, buy or borrow anything. Fresh flowers on the table, milk in the fridge.”

12. Jacob’s Folly Hut

Price per night: From £120 for 6 people

Location: Briston, Melton Constable, Norfolk

Set on the same idyllic site as Goosewing Hut, Jacob’s Folly is one of the best Norfolk shepherds huts for larger groups of people.

Shepherds huts are typically more romantic, intimate accommodation for couples but this hut sleeps up to six adults across three double beds!

While it’s slightly more spacious, it still retains Goosewing’s cosy charm and benefits from the same facilities.

What guests say: “It was a beautiful place – especially in amongst the trees in Autumn. We had a wonderful time.”

13. The Priory Shepherds Huts

Price per night: From £98 for 4 people

Location: Aldeby, nr Lowestoft

The Priory is home to an impressive three shepherds huts: Curly Cow and March Hare that sleep up to four people, and Pheasants Nest that sleeps two people.

All of the huts are beautiful and well-equipped with everything you’d need for a comfortable stay, and outside each hut, you’ll find a decking area with BBQ and fire pit.

And if you want to make your stay extra special, you can request to book one of their farm tours and purchase BBQ and Breakfast packs for your stay.

What guests say: “My partner and I very much enjoyed the walks around the area, the BBQ, the river and the place itself. A tip from us is to consider ordering breakfast and BBQ baskets if you’re a meat-eater – everything was very fresh, tasty and a great value for money.”

14. Wild with Nature Honey Pot Meadow Huts

Price per night: From £110 for 2 people

Location: Shropham, Norfolk

Wild With Nature is home to one of the best Norfolk shepherds huts for those who love living on the wild side.

Nestled amid over 750 acres of glorious Norfolk countryside, you’ll find lakes, woods and wildflower meadows all on your doorstep.

Whether you go wild swimming, stand up paddleboarding or soak in your wood-fired hot tub (or how about all three?), water babies will especially love this site.

The huts have been positioned within the site to maximise privacy and come complete with all the luxurious touches you’d expect from one of the most unusual romantic weekend breaks in the UK.

What guests say: Complete escapism at its best. Everything you could ever want with all the extra treats added on (panoramic views, the hot tub, the wood burners, the comfy bed, the wildlife). The communication both prior and during our stay (when required – more logs) was fantastic. We cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful place and set up.”

15. Charlotte-Rose Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £93 for 2 people

Location: Hethersett, nr Norwich

Luxury’s the name and luxury’s the game at Charlotte-Rose Shepherds Hut.

From the private wood-fired hot tub to the beautiful interiors to the luxurious en-suite bathroom, you really couldn’t ask for much more!

To make your stay even more special, you’ll be provided with a continental breakfast basket including croissants and homemade jams.

However, if that doesn’t cut it for you, you can also pay extra for a bottle of fizz on ice, flowers, or local produce for a full English breakfast.

I mean, you’re on holiday, aren’t you? I say go for it!

What guests say: “Every little detail has been thought about – lovely thick towels, toiletries, croissants for the morning, and even a selection of different teas! The hot tub is gorgeous and so relaxing. The bed is super comfy and the hut has literally everything you need.”

16. Briars Hut

Price per night: From £95 for 2 people

Location: Spooner Row, nr Wymondham

The luxurious hand-built Briars Hut has well-earned its place on this list of the best Norfolk shepherds huts.

Sitting in its own private grassy garden with sun loungers, a picnic table and BBQ, the hut not only benefits from beautiful surroundings but a well-equipped interior too.

We’re talking a double bed, two leather armchairs, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchenette, a wood-burner, and an en-suite bathroom.

It’s safe to say that no matter rain or shine you’ll be seriously comfortable here!

And if you don’t want to have the place all to yourselves, you can invite a couple of friends along to sleep in the nearby Briars Bell Tent.

What guests say: “Such a beautiful hut. Not only is the interior and exterior picturesque, Alison thought of so many little details that made the stay even more relaxing! Upon arrival, Alison had left milk, eggs, jam and butter in the fridge as well as fresh bread for the mornings. There was tea and coffee provided, which was just a lovely touch.”

17. Lazy Goose Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £68 for 2 people

Location: Queen Adelaide, nr Ely

This shepherds hut is called Lazy Goose which means it’s practically giving you permission to completely stop and unwind here.

If you’re not being lazy, you can’t stay here!

And hey, when the king-size bed is that inviting, who can blame you?

The hut is seriously beautiful inside but as soon as you discover the view from its front door, you’ll change your mind and won’t want to spend a second inside!

Yep, that’s right, the hut sits on the edge of a beautiful 2.8-acre carp fishing lake that I just can’t get enough of.

With carp up to 32.8lb, keen fishermen will have a field day here but even if you’re not interested in fishing, you can just soak up the views!

What guests say: “Such a lovely little retreat, Emma was very warm and welcoming, the cabin was lovely and warm and we enjoyed sitting by the fire toasting marshmallows (that Emma kindly provided in our little gift basket) in the evening looking over the lake. It was very peaceful. The shower was lovely too.”

18. The Herdwick Hideaway

Price per night: From £100 for 2 people

Location: Fakenham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk

Norfolk is certainly in no shortage of beautiful shepherds huts.

Close to nature, but within striking distance of the luxury of Godwick Hall, The Herdwick Hideaway is one of the most luxurious of the lot.

With a selection of lovely design features, such as oak wooden floors, butler sinks, and narrowboat wood burners, it definitely looks the part.

To make your stay extra special, order a continental breakfast or bacon buttie straight to your door.

Who can say no to waking up to that?

What guests say: “Thoughtfully decorated, clean throughout and in such a beautiful setting. We really enjoyed the breakfast basket as well as the stargazing package! Spent two evenings toasting marshmallows around the fire pit and looking up at the stars – amazing! The double hammock was fun to chill in too.”

19. Willowfen Retreat Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £100 for 2 people

Location: St John’s Fen End, nr King’s Lynn

Willowfen Retreat Shepherds Hut is just the definition of cute, right?

And the best bit is that because it sits in its own fenced garden you can even bring your dog along with you too!

Walk down the private gravel track and through the front door, and you’ll be greeted by a complimentary welcome basket of milk, bread, butter, jam, free-range eggs, and more, ready to help settle you in.

Aside from the free goodies, you’ll also be struck by just how ridiculously modern and luxurious the hut is.

From sumptuous robes to a fully-fitted kitchen, you’ll feel right at home!

What guests say: “It was just perfect. The whole hut is pristine and has everything you need and more. The outside fire was lovely to sit by in the evening watching the birds and chickens. The welcome pack with Prosecco along with the Balloons & birthday card that was in the hut on arrival is such a lovely touch.”

20. Wispy Meadows Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £160 for 2 people

Location: Saham Toney, nr Swaffham

I think Wispy Meadows Shepherds Hut wins the award for the best surroundings of any of these Norfolk shepherds huts!

Situated on the edge of a beautiful lake, there are definitely worse views to wake up to.

Enjoy breakfast on the decking alfresco before quickly jumping into your private hot tub where you can whittle away the hours.

When you eventually manage to drag yourself inside, you’ll find that the hut is well-equipped with a king-size bed, gas central heating, and a kitchenette including a gas hob and electric oven.

It’s time to cook up a storm!

What guests say: “A perfect hideaway in a beautiful setting overlooking a fishing lake. The traditional yet modern shepherds hut has been carefully finished to provide everything you need. The large seating area on the deck was even better than expected with the fire pit lit. The enormous hot tub was the icing on the cake!”

21. Luxury Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £115 for 2 people

Location: Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk

With the Norfolk Broads and several beaches just a stone’s throw away, this luxury shepherds hut is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore the best of Norfolk.

However, its location is not the shepherds hut’s only merit.

Easily my favourite thing about the hut is the log-burning hot tub.

Inside you’ll find more luxuries, such as a kingsize bed with sheep’s wool mattress, long burning stove, coffee machine, Bluetooth speakers and more.

What guests say: “Alex’s shepherds hut has been finished to an excellent standard and was clean and extremely comfortable. The extra touches like the gorgeous hand wash (I’ve already placed my own order for some) and the “mucky towel” just show how much thought has gone into making every stay extra special. The response time was very fast and nothing was too much trouble, and always with a smile.”

22. Starry Meadow Shepherds Huts

Price per night: From £110 for 2 people

Location: Wood Street, nr Wroxham

The adult-only Starry Meadow supplies that much-needed R&R that you’ve been waiting for.

Home to a handful of different shepherds huts, there’s something to suit everyone.

And luckily for you, they all benefit from the same amazing amenities!

Each heated hut is light and airy, and comprises a double bed, TV, heater, and kitchen, with a separate private bathroom all to yourselves.

Inside the hut, you’ll also find a welcome basket of fresh bread, milk, free-range eggs, biscuits and cake galore.

And to make your stay that extra bit unique, they also have donkey experiences on-site.

Get up close and personal with their little herd of donkeys for some good ol’ animal therapy!

What guests say: “Amanda went above and beyond to make our stay amazing from fresh eggs with smiley faces to a lovely gift basket full of cookies, marshmallows and more, and not forgetting the lovely cold bottle of wine in our mini-fridge! Saying it’s in a field really is an understatement of its beauty. It’s surrounded by trees, fairy lights after dark and beautiful wildflowers.”

23. Barleywood Shepherds Hut

Price per night: From £100 for 2 people

Location: South Creake, nr Fakenham

Barleywood Shepherds Hut is easily one of my all-time favourite shepherds huts in Norfolk, purely for how luxurious it is!

There are so many things to love about this hut that I don’t even know where to start.

From the Canadian spa hot tub to the underfloor heated oak floors to the LCD TV with Netflix, luxury is at every turn.

And that’s not forgetting the sumptuous king-size bed and luxurious shower room!

On top of all that, you’ll also arrive to a tasty welcome hamper.

With prices starting from just £100 a night, this shepherds hut really is a steal.

What guests say: “The hut was very clean, modern, and beautifully done inside and out. For us, it was the extra touches like the big hamper full of goodies which even included doggy treats. The hot tub was wonderful with lovely views, the bathroom was spacious with toiletries provided, and the bed was very comfortable to the point it was hard to get out of in the morning.”

24. Eves Hill Glamping Hut

Price per night: From £85 for 2 people

Location: Booton, Norwich, Norfolk

This glamping hut looks like it was lifted right out of the States rather than little old Norfolk.

Though maybe it’s just the chair out front that reminds me of American porches.

I’d just love to sit there for hours with a book in hand watching the sun go down.

Set on a traditional family farm of nearly 400-acres, you’re likely to see buzzards, skylarks, and owls flying overhead.

What guests say: “Great little site. In the middle of the clean and quiet farm with wonderful views and walks directly from the site. Made very welcome from owners and even had a look at newborn calves as well as given information on walks and local attractions.”

25. Shepherds Delight Hut

Price per night: From £90 for 2 people

Location: Tatterford, nr Fakenham

Last but absolutely by no means least on this list of the best Norfolk shepherds huts, we have Shepherds Delight Hut. And what a delight it is!

The hut has everything you could need for a comfortable stay, including a fold-down queen-size bed, a living area with a table and chairs, a wall-mounted flame effect fire, a TV, a kitchenette, and an en-suite bathroom. Phew, that’s a lot!

Outside you’ll find a veranda with seating and a BBQ so you can cook outside and dine alfresco to your heart’s content. It’s the best way to enjoy the amazing views!

What guests say: “What a delight it truly was. It had everything we needed, was so comfy and to sit on the veranda and watch the birds, or at the picnic table by the pond was idyllic. Nigel is the perfect host, offering a mix of helpfulness and care without intrusion.”
