Rooftop Bars Hull: 5 Best Bars with Amazing Views [2024]

by

It may come as a surprise to you that Hull is home to an amazing selection of rooftop bars.

But I’m sure it’s a good surprise.

I mean, how else would you rather spend a hot, sunny day than drinking on a rooftop, right?

All these rooftop bars offer great vibes, tasty cocktails and even better views so you’re in for an absolute treat.

From Instagrammable rooftops to rooftops with live music, here are the 5 best rooftop bars in Hull!

1. The Lexington Rooftop Bar & Terrace

Address: The Lexington rooftop bar 24, Ferensway, Hull HU2 8NH

Phone number: 01482 947458

The Lexington easily wins the award for my favourite rooftop bar in Hull.

This heated outdoor terrace exudes luxury, making it perfect for a classier night out on the town.

However, even if you’re inside, you’ll be able to enjoy panoramic views of the city through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Either way, you’ll soon be relaxing with a cocktail, glass of wine or a refreshing beer in hand.

I know I’d be ordering one of their expertly-mixed cocktails…

‘The Garden’, ‘Happy Hour’ and ‘Platform 1’ are menu highlights but really, they’re all delicious!

You also can’t miss their Caramel Popcorn Rum which tastes just as good as it sounds.

If the taste of popcorn gets you a little hungry, then why not try one of their light bites?

From meat anti pasti to nachos to a vegan stuffed crust BBQ jackfruit pizza, there’s something for everyone on their small but wonderful menu.

While you’re there, be sure to also head downstairs to Doubletree by Hilton, one of the best places to go for bottomless brunch in Hull.

Remember: pre-booking is essential so book ahead to not miss out on some of the best views in Hull!

2. Cafe & Seasonal Rooftop Bar at Humber Street Gallery

Address: 64 Humber St, Hull HU1 1TU

Phone number: 01482 304453

Cafe & Seasonal Rooftop Bar is another of my favourite rooftop bars in Hull.

As a cafe-meets-bar, you can get your coffee fix here as well as your cocktail fix – with your rooftop fix to boot!

Gallery Café is the perfect spot to socialise, especially if you love creative, artistic settings.

The cafe is always filled to the brim with delicious cakes, whether it’s Oreo, Biscoff or Kinder Bueno.

Pick your favourite then take it up to the sunny rooftop to enjoy amazing food accompanied by even better views of the Marina.

Or if you’re in the mood for something more substantial, grab a pizza instead.

(And believe me, the pizzas are worth it.)

You’ll be washing all this delicious food down with craft beer, wine, spirits or cocktails – whatever you’re in the mood for, they’ve probably got it!

Top tip: keep an eye out on their Facebook page for their latest events as they occasionally hold live music events.

The cafe is only open from 10 am – 5 pm Wednesday – Thursday and 10 am – 8 pm Friday – Sunday so make sure you don’t visit on Mondays or Tuesdays!

3. Junkyard

Address: K2 Bond Street, 12th Floor, 60 Bond St, Hull HU1 3EN

Phone number: 01482 699076

If it’s great views that you want, it’s great views that you’ll get at The Junkyard.

The Junkyard is the place to be seen in Hull, and the jewel on their crown is, of course, their private rooftop garden.

The stunning 12th-floor location is a family-run cafe, bar and grill where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bar tapas.

If you fancy a steak, The Junkyard’s got your back.

Or maybe you fancy a sweet potato, chickpea and beetroot burger?

Whatever you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find it here!

Luckily for you, their cocktails are just as impressive as their food.

Their menu features all the classics you know and love, including daiquiri, margaritas and espresso martinis.

Once you’ve ordered your drinks, head out onto the open-air rooftop for a night you won’t forget.

The views are as far-reaching as the Wolds, with the Hull Minster making an appearance on the skyline too.

Be sure to have your camera at the ready – you’ll want to remember these views!

4. O’Learys Bar

Address: 41 Lowgate, Hull HU1 1EA

Phone number: 01482 228063

Next up, there’s O’Learys Bar, a popular bar that plays host to some of the best live music around.

If you’re looking for a proper night out then O’Learys will be one of the best outdoor spaces in Hull for you!

Whether you’re into house, pop-punk or even want to see a tribute band, there will be something on their events schedule that’s up your street.

And what better place to enjoy all this music than their spacious beer garden and outdoor bar?

Throw some good pints and a great atmosphere into the mix and you’re onto a winner!

As for food, O’Learys serve all the best comfort food, including burgers, tacos, fried chicken, and hot dogs.

The Mac n Cheeseburger sounds unbelievable, as do the Refried Bean tacos.

Ooh, or how about some of the Nashville Style Hot Fried Chicken?

Yum!

Head here for your next night out – you won’t regret it.

5. Millhouse Restaurant & Bar

Address: Beverley Rd, Skidby, Cottingham HU16 5TF

Phone number: 01482 845610

Finally, we have Millhouse Restaurant & Bar that’s situated a little out of Hull in Skidby.

Although it’s a little out of the city, it’s well worth travelling to if you fancy a different rooftop experience.

Their rooftop lounge is one of my favourite rooftop bars in Hull, not least because it overlooks a beautiful windmill in the East Yorkshire countryside.

Believe me, this one’s worth it for the views alone!

The private lounge is luxurious and exclusive, so naturally, the only way to experience it is to book out the entire space.

Whether it’s for a family celebration or an intimate gathering, the space can host up to 20 people.

You’ll need 10 people minimum to book out the space, and you’ll all benefit from a private chef and access to an exclusive wine cellar filled with only the finest premium wines and champagnes.

On top of this, you can choose from a range of set menus to suit any occasion.

Prices range from £48 per adult up to £60 per adult, which gets you rooftop hire for half a day, chef’s canapés and sparkling wine upon arrival, a three-course menu, and tea and coffee with truffles to finish.

Pretty great value for money, huh?

So that wraps up the 5 best rooftop bars in Hull!

I’m sure that at least one of these rooftops has caught your eye but why not try to visit them all?

Any excuse for more drinks, right?!
