If you’re planning a trip to Bannau Brycheiniog and are looking for somewhere unique to stay, then look no further than The Loft at Goytre Hall.
It’s situated just five miles south of Abergavenny, a popular market town perched on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons.
From here, you’re perfectly placed to explore all of the beauty of the national park, from its high peaks to its magical waterfalls to its sprawling forests.
I recently stayed in The Loft for four nights and I had the absolute best time so let me show you around!
What is Goytre Hall?
Set on eight acres of enchanting grounds, the medieval Goytre Hall is one of the most beautiful places to stay in Monmouthshire.
From mature gardens and woodland to a lake and leafy orchard, there’s so much space to explore and lots of gorgeous little sunbathing and reading spots.
Inside the property, you’ll find three first-floor suites and The Loft, a self-contained apartment upstairs where I slept.
The lovely owners, Rosemarie and Simon, are also working to launch more accommodation on-site, giving you more options for your next Brecon Beacons getaway!
The Loft at Goytre Hall
The Loft is the oldest part of the property, dating back to the 1620s, and is one of many holiday rentals available on-site.
Climb the stairs up to The Loft and you’ll be met by charming and characterful original features, combined with contemporary home comforts.
The apartment has been immaculately done and beautifully decorated and you’ll be left wanting for absolutely nothing!
Bedroom
If it’s a good night’s sleep that you’re after, it’s a good night’s sleep you’ll get at The Loft.
Not only does the bedroom benefit from a super-king size bed but the soothing muted tones of the decor make for a tranquil setting to relax and unwind.
Aside from the bed, the bedroom also contains storage and a vanity area to prepare for your day’s adventures!
Bathroom
Moving into the en-suite bathroom, this might be my favourite room in The Loft!
From the deep free-standing bathtub to the large walk-in shower, the bathroom oozes romance.
After a long day up the mountains, there’s no better way to relax your muscles than by taking a long luxurious soak in the bath.
Kitchen
Next up, the kitchen has everything you could ask for and more, including an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine.
It’s the perfect place to cook up a storm, and enjoy your feast at the kitchen diner!
The lovely hosts leave a complimentary hamper of goodies for you, including a bottle of wine that goes down very well after a day of exploring.
Living room
Finally, there’s the living room with the comfiest velvet sofa you’ll melt into and a Smart TV with all the apps.
Whether you’re sheltering from a storm or relaxing after a day of adventuring, it’s the perfect little bolthole for you and your loved one.
Put on your favourite film, grab a bag of popcorn, and cherish some ‘us’ time!
So there you have it: my review of the beautiful Loft at Goytre Hall.
