Price per night: From £400 for 2 adults and 2 children

Location: Hartland

Tucked away in a hidden valley in Hartland, Sleepy Owl is home to two treehouses: Nest and Hideout.

Both treehouses are immaculately finished and beautifully designed with so many incredible surprises inside.

From the UK’s first moving indoor-outdoor bathtub to gorgeous wood-fired hot tubs, these treehouses have it all.

Add onto that super king-size beds, huge movie projectors, and Morso pizza ovens, and you’ll be entertained for hours.

The treehouses are perfect for couples but they also have a second bedroom which sleeps two kids, and space for two dogs if you want to bring the family along!

What guests say: “Would like to give more than 5 stars but there isn’t that option. Fantastic, peaceful, tranquil. Loved every minute of being there and we were sad to have to leave. The bed was like sleeping in a giant marshmallow. My fiance absolutely loved the copper bath being pushed out on the evening. We will DEFINITELY be booking again.”

With three treehouses to choose from, you’re spoilt for choice at Wolf Wood Treehouses.

The excitement begins before you even enter the treehouses, as you venture across the rope-bridges, high amongst the tree canopy.

The treehouses are all stocked with board games, books, and music galore meaning you can easily spend the weekend not leaving the comfort of your own tree!

And when they also bless you with a large outdoor hot tub, what more could you really ask for?

Oh, you want some amazing views too? Don’t worry, Wolf Wood has got you covered!

What guests say: “I had a lovely stay at the Lookout Treehouse! The treehouse itself was so nicely built and beautifully decorated inside. It’s located in a remote area meaning it was so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub and fire were my favourite part of the stay and this was made even better by the hidden sauna down the pathway beside it! I could not fault anything about it.”

Treetops Treehouse is the stuff of childhood fantasy.

I mean, tell me this isn’t exactly what you conjure up in your brain when you think of your dream treehouse!

Treetops combines the exterior of childhood dreams with the luxurious interior of your adult dreams.

With a king-size master bedroom, a children’s bunk room, an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding copper bath, a fully-fitted kitchen, and a cosy lounge with a wood burner, you’re left wanting for nothing.

And the best bit is that you don’t even have to lift a finger in the kitchen as you can enjoy meals from the hotel in the treehouse.

What guests say: “We have nothing but praise for the hotel. The treehouse is perfectly built with a luxurious finish and has that wow factor that really offers true escapism and the chance to be one with nature. The grounds of the hotel are teaming with wildlife and we loved watching the owls and bats as dusk from our balcony.”

Ravendere Retreats is easily one of my favourite treehouses in Devon, and after seeing the photo above, I’m sure you’re not surprised.

Nestled within the canopy of four mature beech trees, this unique, handcrafted treehouse excels in both valley views and beautiful interiors.

The treehouse is filled to the brim with an eclectic array of unique pieces and thoughtful details, such as a feature wall crafted from vintage red wine barrel staves.

You can also expect luxuries like Wi-Fi, an Apple TV, a Nespresso coffee machine, a luxurious king-size bed, a roll-top freestanding bath, and a walk-in waterfall shower.

Talk about romantic!

What guests say: “Although we both knew we were going to love our treehouse experience, our expectations were definitely exceeded!  The different cooking equipment from the pizza oven to the oven above the log burner to the whistling kettle on the induction hob all added to the uniqueness and made our time all the more special.”

Price per night: From £220 for 2 people and £295 for 4 people

Location: Braunton, Devon

With three beautiful properties to choose from, Pickwell Manor is home to some of the most beautiful treehouses in Devon.

Seriously, they are something special!

The Hideaway, The Den and The Loft are all unique in their own way.

However, they all benefit from the same luxurious amenities, such as bubbling hot tubs, luxury king-size beds, and amazing decking.

And of course, they’re all surrounded by trees, so they feel a million miles away not only from each other but also from the rest of the world.

What guests say: “We’re just heading home from a week staying in The Den – the family treehouse. I nearly hid in the hot tub so I wouldn’t have to leave – it’s been the most perfect week. The Den has everything you need and was such a beautiful place to spend time. The views are spectacular.”

7. The Beehive Treehouse

The Beehive Treehouse is one of the best treehouses in Devon for two couples or a group of friends.

With a great entertaining space indoors and spacious decking outside, you’ll be able to enjoy your company no matter rain or shine.

Aside from the beautiful wood-fired hot tub, the obvious highlight of this treehouse is the amazing countryside views.

Looking out across the rolling hills makes the stay worth it in itself.

However, if you want to make your holiday even more special, you can pay extra for a Cream Tea, a Savoury Tea, a Big Breakfast, or a Combo Basket!

What guests say: “Beautiful and tranquil location! The Beehive Treehouse is just amazing, everything about it is just perfect! We had the most fantastic break, will definitely go back again. Thank you for sharing it with us”

8. Yggdrasil Treehouse

Price per night: From £335 for 2 people

Location: Morebath, Nr Bampton

The stunning Nordic-style Yggdrasil Treehouse is easily one of my favourite treehouses in Devon.

If the photo above didn’t already speak for itself, let me tell you a thing or two about this treehouse…

Firstly, the interior is the stuff of dreams.

From the vintage armchairs to the hand-crafted bed to the sheepskins from Iceland, so much thought has gone into every little inch of the treehouse.

And luckily, the exterior is much the same!

Of course, the highlight of the decking is the hot tub surrounded by a tall log wall draped with fairy lights.

However, you’ll also find a BBQ area, a hammock and plenty of outdoor furniture so you can dine and drink al fresco to your heart’s content.

What guests say: “The treehouse is absolutely stunning, even better than the photos. There was a welcome hamper full of goodies and breakfast items; bread, croissants, juice, butter, eggs, sausages and the best bacon! There is underfloor heating throughout and the bathroom is a haven with a lovely powerful shower.”

9. Woodman’s Wagon Treehouse

Price per night: From £180 for 2 people

Location: Kenn, nr Exeter

The handcrafted Woodman’s Wagon Treehouse sits in an eight-acre “island” of lush private woodland, making it one of the more unique treehouses in Devon.

If I had to describe this treehouse in just one word it would be ‘cosy’ because that’s exactly what it is.

In fact, it’s basically a digital detox wrapped up in a treehouse.

From the king-size bed to the bath with great views to the outdoor deck chairs, every inch of the space is lovingly designed to help you switch off from normal life.

Woodman’s Wagon is an escape from the world like no other and one of my favourite treehouses in Devon!

What guests say: “It was just jaw-dropping. Being led through the ancient woodland that it’s set in is paradise in itself and then you see the cabin nestled in the trees and it’s just perfect in every way. The view from the deck all across the rolling fields take your vision right out to sea, it’s incredible.”

10. Cleave Treehouse

Price per night: From £170 for 2 people

Location: Tedburn St Mary, nr Exeter

Cleave Treehouse is one of my favourite treehouses in Devon, and once you see it a little closer, you’ll quickly understand why.

Firstly, the treehouse decking benefits from a white roll-top bath which is basically the perfect spot to soak up the surroundings, no?

And secondly, the interior marries the simplicity of treehouse living with all the creature comforts you’d expect from a holiday home.

The mezzanine super-king-size bed is a personal highlight, though I also can’t get enough of the breakfast that The Old Piggery can deliver right to your treehouse!

What guests say: “We had the most wonderful, peaceful and restorative weekend. It is visionary, with so much attention to detail. All we needed to do was unwind and soak up the tranquillity. Spotlessly clean and simple luxury; fresh flowers and thoughtful extras made us feel welcome and ready to relax.”

And luckily for you, the inside of the beautifully crafted treehouse is just as lovely.

Expect a fully-equipped duck egg blue kitchen, dining area, solid oak double bed, and luxurious en-suite bathroom.

There’s nothing more you could possibly need!

What guests say: “The treehouse was amazing. Appreciated the thoughtfulness even down to the outside lights coming on leading you up to the house. The treehouse was very well equipped with everything you need including coffee pods for the Nespresso machine and biscuits too!”

12. Tree Top Escape Treehouse

Price per night: From £772 for 4 people

Location: Millbrook Estate, nr Barnstaple

Tree Top Escape Treehouse is easily the most luxurious treehouse in Devon.

(I mean the price tag speaks volumes!)

Unfortunately, you can’t stay here as a normal guest because Tree Top Escape is an intimate wedding venue for those looking to elope.

Offering complete privacy and tranquillity, the treehouse not only benefits from incredible views but also all sorts of luxuries.

Think a 55” 4k TV, a Sonos surround sound system, a hot tub, an Italian designer kitchen, a standalone copper bath, a super king-size handmade bed, and so much more…

What guests say: “My partner and I treated ourselves to a stay at this AMAZING WOW FACTOR Tree Top Escape. The team made it the perfect stay. Special thanks to Diane the Housekeeper for decorating the TTE for our birthday, and also the bottle of bubbly. We also recommend having Justine the Michelin Star Chef cook for you.”

13. Yeworthy Eco Treehouse

Price per night: From £100 for 2 people

Location: Elworthy, nr Taunton

Yeworthy Eco Treehouse is situated next to a lake, so hop on board the rowing boat for two to enjoy the beautiful scenery up-close.

It’s time to live out your wildest The Notebook dreams!

If you want to appreciate the views from afar instead, the treehouse has a balcony with a table and chairs.

The cosy feel to the treehouse makes you feel right at home. And if you want to feel like a kid again there’s even a tyre swing nearby.

(You can never be too old for one of those.)

The treehouse is also eco-friendly and prides itself on its sustainability – yes, that means you’ll have to get used to a composting sawdust toilet!

What guests say: “What a dream come true! Who would believe this place exists in England, photos simply do not do justice. Andy is a wonderful host. If you want to connect with nature, be away from noise and civilisation then this is your place.”

14. The Bird Box Treehouse

the-bird-box-treehouse-cabin-honeyside-down

Price per night: From £117 for 2 people

Location: Okehampton

I’m already daydreaming about waking up in The Bird Box‘s king-size bed, throwing open the French door windows, and looking out from the Juliet balcony.

After soaking up the surroundings, I’d quickly run down the stairs and find my way to the bubbling sunken Canadian cedarwood hot tub on the decking.

Basically what I’m saying is that The Bird Box oozes romance all over.

If you’re looking for one of the best treehouses in Devon for couples, this is it.

What guests say: “Tucked away in woodland, it was so cosy and comfortable. Waking up every morning with the sunlight streaming in and the sound of birdsong was incredibly peaceful and felt like such a break. It’s incredibly well-designed and has everything you could need. The hot tub was delightful and the beautiful view was heavenly.”

15. The Pheasant’s Retreat Tree Tent

the-pheasants-retreat-tree-tent-with-cabin-in-forest

Price per night: From £120 for 2 people

Location: Cheriton Fitzpaine, nr Crediton

The Pheasant’s Retreat is more of a tent than a house but it’s suspended in the trees so it totally counts, right?

Plus, it’s so unique that I’m sure you won’t be able to get enough of it either.

The perfect way to get a little closer to nature, The Pheasant’s Retreat is all about you, nature and your loved one.

The stresses of daily life will quickly melt away and be replaced with only the toughest of decisions: do you want to spend the majority of your time around the fire pit, on the swing bench, or in the wood-fired hot tub?

Tough choice, I know!

What guests say: “Absolutely incredible from start to finish. A peaceful few days with a great balance of being in the wild and luxury. The hot tub was ready for when we arrived which we hugely appreciated. Little luxuries like the dressing gowns and chocolate cake just made it perfect.”

16. The Nest Cabin

the-nest-cabin-at-top-of-field-in-autumn

Price per night: From £225 for 4 people

Location: Stoodleigh, nr Tiverton

Similarly, The Nest is technically a cabin rather than a treehouse but when it’s got height and it looks this good, I couldn’t leave it off this list!

From the bubbling wood-fired hot tub to the beautiful interiors, there’s so much to love about this cabin.

I also can’t get enough of the rocking chairs on the decking.

A glass of wine, a good book, and those chairs are calling my name!

You can enjoy the beautiful landscape from the chairs or while attending an outdoor yoga session with Claire, your host/yoga teacher and physiotherapist.

What guests say: “We had a brilliant time. The setting is gorgeous. Everything is of lovely quality and a lot of thought has gone into what’s provided. Claire baked us some scones and put jam, clotted cream and sparkling wine in the fridge, which was a lovely touch. The hot tub was a hit with fantastic views.”
