Acai Bowls Boston: 17 Best Places to Go for Acai Bowls [2024]

by

Boston is easily one of my favorite cities in the US.

It’s cool, it’s rich in history, and, oh yeah, it’s home to some seriously tasty acai bowls.

I love an açai bowl so when I was in the city recently I took it upon myself to try out some of the best acai bowls Boston has to offer.

And believe me when I say there are some absolute beauties on this list, ranging from PB & J bowls and chocolate bowls to build-your-own bowls and bowls packed with superfoods galore!

So without further ado, scroll on to discover your new favorite acai bowls in Boston.

1. Cocobeet

acai-bowl-with-fruit-and-granola-from-cocobeet

Address: 100 City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA 02108

Phone number: 857-263-8598

Price per bowl: $9.95

Cocobeet lives by the quote “If it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don’t”.

Coincidentally, their unprocessed and organic acai bowl is packed with lots of plant-based goodness!

It’s a delicious blend of acai berry, maqui berry, strawberries, banana, and sunflower seed butter, topped with homemade vanilla maple granola, fruit, and coconut flakes.

How tasty does that sound?!

If you’ve never tried maqui berry before, it’s an exotic dark-purple fruit that’s loaded with antioxidants and has many health benefits, including reduced inflammation and protection against heart disease.

The more superfruits the merrier, right?

Cocobeet’s acai bowl comes in at a sweet $9.95 so it’s not all that expensive, either.

2. Fresh Press

Address: One Federal Building, 1 Federal St, Boston, MA 02110

Phone number: 857-991-1663

Price per bowl: $13

Don’t panic, it’s organic!

Yep, that’s the case for everything at Fresh Press.

Their 100% gluten and dairy-free menu is filled with all sorts of deliciousness, from salads to protein waffles to yep, you guessed it: acai bowls!

There are two acai bowls for you to choose from at Fresh Press: the Arnold and the Berry Power.

The former comprises unsweetened acai, homemade peanut butter, banana, and homemade milk, while the latter is made up of unsweetened acai, blueberries, banana, housemade peanut butter, chocolate protein, and oat milk.

If you want a lighter bowl, opt for the Arnold, or if you’re after some added protein, go for the Berry Power!

Alternatively, you can add acai to any bowl on their menu for an additional $2, giving you a total of 12 acai bowl options.

Regardless of which bowl you go for, you then get to select four toppings, and there are so many good ones to choose from.

Have your pick from granola, banana, cacao nibs, strawberries, coconut flakes, pineapple, blueberries, peanut butter, almond butter (+$1.25), pepitas, roasted pecans, honey, chia, flax, and hemp hearts.

What a line-up of toppings that is!

If all of that somehow wasn’t enough for you, you can pay $1 for each additional add-on.

We’re talking vegan vanilla or chocolate protein, hemp protein, spirulina, turmeric, ginger, blue Majik, avocado ($2), kale, spinach, orange, maca, matcha, reishi, lions mane, and house Nutella.

3. Revolution Health Kitchen

Revolution Health Kitchen is another local plant-based foodie spot, well-loved for its nutrient-packed juices, hearty soups, and refreshing smoothies.

They have one acai bowl on their menu but you can customize it to your liking, meaning you technically have loads of bowls to choose from here!

The base of this bowl is a simple acai berry, banana, and date combo blended to perfection.

However, there are a number of upgrades like spinach (+$1), protein (+$2), and spirulina (+$2) which you can blend in if you so desire!

You then get to choose up to four toppings from their long list of toppings.

We’re talking banana, apple, blueberries, gluten-free granola, gluten-free oats, buckwheat, coconut flakes, cranberries, raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, almonds, walnuts, and cashews!

You can also add cacao nibs (+$0.75), SunButter (+$1), and peanut butter (+$1) if you cough up some extra dough.

I think I’d go for the granola, banana, chia seeds, and peanut butter – yum!

Choose between a small bowl for $12 or a large bowl for $14.

4. Life Alive Organic Cafe

Address: Multiple locations

Price per bowl: $11.25

After seeing the photo above, I’m sure you already understand why Life Alive is one of my favorite places to go for acai bowls in Boston!

They have three cafes in the city (in Back Bay, South End, and Brookline) meaning you’re never too far away from your next Life Alive acai bowl.

Their acai bowls cost $11.25 each and they have four incredible options to choose from.

My favorite would have to be the Honey Mango Acai because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever tried before.

It’s made up of acai with mango, honey, dates, raspberry sauce, walnut crumble, and fresh mint – how unique is that?!

Another fan favorite is the PB & J bowl with strawberry, peanut butter, peanut crumble, hemp, and almond granola.

Alternatively, the Super Berry and Peanut Butter Cup bowls are simpler but that doesn’t make them any less tasty.

The former is a classic combo of acai with blueberry, strawberry, cacao nibs, coconut, and almond granola, while the latter comprises acai, superfood fudge, banana, coconut flakes, peanut butter, and almond granola.

While you’re here, I’d also recommend trying one of their warm grain bowls – they’re the stuff of dreams!

5. Pressed

Price per bowl: $11.50 – $12.50

If you’re pressed for time, you can never go wrong with an acai bowl from Pressed!

They have four locations in the city, mainly concentrated in the Back Bay area, but each offers the same delicious acai bowls.

They have three acai bowls to choose from, all for the same sweet price of $9.25: their original, their power bowl, and their superfood bowl.

Their OG is a clean take on the classic, featuring banana, strawberries, blueberries, granola, and agave, all floating on a base of acai, oat milk, and coconut cream.

Next up, their power bowl levels up the protein by swapping out the strawberries for satiating almond butter and almonds.

Finally, their superfood bowl swaps out the strawberries for coconut and goji berries for that added superfood boost.

(Top tip: if you’re a Pressed VIP you can get your acai bowl for just $8.25 instead!)

There’s a great selection of toppings to choose from, including mango, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, banana, granola, coconut flakes, almond butter, sun butter, chia seeds, cacao nibs, cinnamon, agave, and honey.

I think I’d go for a warming mix of cinnamon, almond butter, banana, and blueberries!

Mother Juice firmly believes that they have the best acai bowl in town, and it’s up there for sure.

You can visit them in one of their four bars in Boston Public Market, downtown Boston, Back Bay, and Kendall Square.

They have five ready-made acai bowls for you to try, or alternatively, you can make a custom acai bowl (though this is a lot more expensive).

8th Ave comes in at a sweet $11, while Nutella and Power will cost you $13.

In between, you’ve got Pura Vida (my favorite!) and Tropical which cost $12 each.

8th Ave is topped with granola, banana, and honey, Pura Vida is topped with granola, strawberry, blueberry, and honey, and Tropical is topped with granola, banana, pineapple, honey, and coconut flakes.

If you’re a sucker for Nutella, you should try out the Nutella bowl which is a sweet combo of granola, strawberry, banana, Nutella, and coconut flakes.

Or if you want a little more protein, the Power bowl will go down a treat!
