You’ll be sure to find your dream glamping spot here!

1. Farmstead Glamping

Price per night: From £113 for 2 people

Location: Sturminster Newton

Farmstead Glamping is a beautiful luxury glamping site with some of the most gorgeous shepherds’ huts I’ve ever seen.

There are three artisan shepherd’s huts to choose from, and I can assure you that you’re going to fall head over heels in love with them.

The huts are on an idyllic dairy farm, offering a truly peaceful escape.

It’s multi-award-winning and it’s not hard to see why, because they really have thought of everything.

Two of the huts also have their own wood-fired hot tubs, which are ideal for unwinding after a long day of exploring Dorset.

For a gorgeous, secluded retreat, look no further than this!

What guests say: “Me and him and the outdoors, and all the comfort we could have wished for! Such a beautiful time away. Peaceful, relaxed, comforting and idyllic. Even had the luxury of not only homemade heart-shaped scones (a sheer delight) but also witnessing the pheasant (Pete as we shall call him) shuffle across the field whilst we slugged our red wine around the fire pit cooking our sea bass purchased from Weymouth quay. Bucket list perfection.”

2. Mallinson’s Woodland Retreat

What guests say: “A fabulous place. We rented all three treehouses – each of them unique, so everyone had something a little different. The treehouses are beautifully appointed, spacious, comfortable, and classy, with a jacuzzi and in our case an outside shower and sauna. We all had barbecues and pizza ovens which were tremendous fun, and our host provided sufficient fuel and pizza dough to get us underway. The treehouses are in a wood, a short walk from the parking area, but well enough away to feel you are in splendid isolation. Very much one for adults only, I can’t recommend these highly enough for a special occasion with family or friends.”

You’ll be surrounded by nature and wildlife, and it’s got its own fishing ponds that will be sure to keep you busy.

The glamping yurts are some of the comfiest in town, with everything you could need for a dream glamping experience.

There’s a wood burner to keep you warm and fairy lights to create a cosy feel, and it’s truly special.

The safari tent is a real treat, too – be sure to make the most of that outdoor decking!

What guests say: “We stayed here with our two young boys and had the most brilliant weekend. Super facilities, wonderful comfy beds, and a lovely site with lots to do. Two pubs and a shop are within walking distance and lovely hosts. The wood-burning stove in the yurt was so cosy. Can’t wait to go back in a few months’ time, we re-booked on the way home!”

Price per night: From £95 for 4 people

Location: Shaftesbury

Gold Hill Glamping offers an unrivalled luxury bell tent glamping experience.

It’s based at Allan’s Farm, which is a working dairy farm with an authentic vibe.

You’ll be likely to see the cows as they wander around the farm, as well as some lovely farm ponies that will be sure to put a smile on your face.

They’ve also got fresh farm eggs to cook up for a delicious breakfast!

Their bell tents are comfortable and cosy, equipped with everything you could ever need.

They’ve got stunning views across the rolling hills of Dorset, creating a sense of peace and quiet from the moment you open your eyes.

I’d recommend ordering a hamper ahead of your stay, too – they’re incredible!

What guests say: We stayed at the end of August 2022 with friends. It was great to have just the two bell tents and to have the entire field to ourselves as a result. Clea and Jon are very friendly and helpful. They are non-intrusive so we could just get on with having fun. The kids roamed wild in the field and we didn’t even make the most of the former forest school site or the opportunity to see the milking of the herd. We would definitely return and found there was loads to do locally. As this was our first foray into glamping, we couldn’t have chosen a better place to try it out.”

What guests say: “My family and I had our first yurt experience here last weekend. From the point of booking, throughout our stay and to the follow-up email, the communications from Verity were excellent. Fantastic location, with great amenities. Definitely the place to go if you want to experience a ‘near’ wild camp, with a few luxurious extras thrown in. And, it’s also a great base camp, within a stone’s throw of the coast and many other local/historical attractions. We will be booking back in here for sure, in the near future.”
