There are loads of amazing viewpoints where you can see the beautiful city of Budapest from above.

I mean, everyone’s heard of Gellért Hill, right?!

But how about if you want to see the city from above with a drink in hand?

Well, thanks to the incredible rooftop bars in Budapest you can do just that.

And luckily for you, I’ve rounded them all up in one handy list!

Whether you want a rooftop with live music, a rooftop with a pool, or even a rooftop with igloos, Budapest has you covered.

So scroll through this list of the best rooftop bars in Budapest to find your new favourite sky-high drinking hole!

1. Solid Wine Bar and Restaurant

Address: Budapest, Királyi Pál u. 4-7th Floor, 1053

Phone number: +36 70 333 2113

Perched on top of Hotel Rum, Solid Wine Bar and Restaurant is a rooftop wine restaurant that serves Hungarian cuisine and wines.

As well as being a great spot for dinner and evening drinks, it’s also open from 7 am to noon daily, just in case a rooftop brunch is calling your name.

Their brunch menu is full of all kinds of delights including my favourite dish, the oven-burnt cauliflower with miso, ginger, and almond yoghurt.

Yum!

Come rain or shine, Solid is a solid choice for a rooftop bar.

While the views are better on a sunny day, its retractable roof and fireplace give a warm cosy feeling in worse weather.

2. High Note SkyBar

Address: Aria Hotel Budapest by Library Hotel Collection, Budapest, Hercegprímás u. 5, 1051

Phone number: +36 20 438 8648

Start your Budapest rooftop bar crawl on a high note with High Note SkyBar.

This gorgeous rooftop bar is situated right by the Basilica and enjoys breathtaking views over the city skyline.

Up here, you’ll find lots of colourful comfy sofas and seats that are best enjoyed on a hot summer’s day.

While the cocktails and wine here are superb, it’s the food that’s really worth shouting about.

The menu, beautifully crafted by Chef Viktor Hermann, features tasty starters, extravagant main courses, and decadent desserts.

Order the white chocolate-lime rum baba and thank me later!

3. The Sky Garden

Address: Budapest, Podmaniczky u. 45, 1064

Phone number: +36 1 616 6000

A beautiful oasis hidden high above the streets of Budapest, The Sky Garden is exactly that: a garden above the city.

It sits atop Mystery Hotel and has an almost royal palace-like feel to it.

Think imposing white columns, magnificent views, and an abundance of greenery!

From here, you’ll be able to enjoy views of many of the city’s major attractions, including the Castle of Buda and the Fishermen’s Bastion.

If I could only recommend you to order one thing, it would be one of their phenomenal cocktails.

From the garden-inspired Levander Dream to the fun and fruity Frozen Mango Margarita, their unique cocktails are sure to rock your world.

Or for something sugary, go for the N’ice Cream – it’s the sweetest way to get drunk!

4. Liz and Chain Sky Lounge

Address: Budapest, Apáczai Csere János u. 4, 1052

Phone number: +36 20 444 6169

Perched atop the Budapest Marriott Hotel, Liz and Chain Sky Lounge offers a taste of Italy in Hungary.

Up here you can indulge in Italian small plates and toast to the ‘dolce vita’ with a gin cocktail!

If you’re hungry, I’d recommend the Italian meatballs in tomato jam, as well as the sky summer pizza which is topped with feta, strawberries, and balsamic glaze.

As for drinks, the High Above All cocktail is my favourite but I’ve tried a few and none have disappointed.

And to top things off, the view here is truly spectacular.

The sky is the limit here at Liz and Chain!

(Well, so long as you’re visiting between the hours of 5 pm and 1 am Wednesday to Saturday.)

5. St Andrea Wine & SkyBar

st-andrea-wine-and-skybar-rooftop-bars-budapest

Address: Vaci 1, Budapest Deák Ferenc utca 5 Váci 1. Office Building Rooftop

Phone number: +36 30 300 3930

St Andrea Wine & SkyBar is a fashionable cocktail bar serving upmarket plates and good vibes in equal measure.

It’s situated on top of the UNESCO World Heritage Váci1 office building on Vörösmarty Square, so as you can probably guess, the views are pretty great.

From here, you can see the iconic Ferris wheel and the city skyline with Gellért Hill in the background.

Here you can indulge in fine wines and intriguing cocktails while listening to live music and mingling with locals and clued-in tourists.

If you’re peckish, I’d recommend the baked aubergine followed up by the white chocolate with salted pistachio and pineapple.

Both are incredible and won’t disappoint!

6. Cortile Sky Bar

Address: Budapest, Dessewffy u. 14, 1066

Phone number: +36 30 288 4683

If you’re looking for one of the more intimate rooftop bars in Budapest, look no further than Cortile Sky Bar.

Complete with an infinity pool, Cortile Sky Bar is the perfect place to sunbathe and cool down on a hot summer’s day.

If you want to use the pool, it’ll cost you 10,000 HUF, which includes a welcome drink and the use of a towel.

Alternatively, you can just enjoy the bar and the incredible city views, though be sure to book ahead as this one gets busy!

They don’t serve food here but what they lack in food they more than make up for in drinks.

Order the Aeris and thank me later – it’s my favourite!

Mezcal, agave, lime, and rosemary?

Yes, please!

7. Intermezzo Roof Terrace

intermezzo-roof-terrace-bar-rooftop-bars-budapest

Address: Budapest, Hotel President, Hold u. 3, 1054

Phone number: +36 30 779 4477

Alternatively, if it’s a super spacious rooftop bar you’re after, then Intermezzo Roof Terrace fits the bill perfectly!

The sizeable terrace can be found on top of Hotel President and it serves fantastic food and cocktails.

However, my favourite thing about this rooftop is that it’s entirely open-air and offers incredible 360 panoramic views of the city.

Really, it’s as much of a lookout point as it is a rooftop bar!

So whether you’re going out with a big group or on an intimate date, Intermezzo is a versatile space that warmly welcomes everyone.

8. MemoRise Skybar

Address: Budapest, Bástya u. 33, 1056

Phone number: +36 1 380 1270

The punnily-named MemoRise Skybar is situated on top of Hotel Memories and it’s a casual spot that’s open from Tuesday to Saturday.

For a rooftop bar, they have an impressively lengthy food menu that features tapas, main courses, desserts, and more.

I’d recommend ordering a round of tapas for the table, and then wash it all down with one of MemoRise’s signature cocktails.

The Beauty Elixir gets my vote but none will disappoint!

They also have live music here so time your trip right and you might just be able to enjoy some tunes with the view.

9. The Duchess

Address: Budapest, Váci u 36, 1056

Phone number: +36 70 402 4900

The Duchess has one of the most unique views of any of these rooftop bars in Budapest.

And if that’s not reason enough to visit, I’m not sure what is!

Overlooking the Elizabeth Bridge, this uber-chic rooftop bar will have you feeling like royalty for the night.

Think cutting-edge decor, renowned cuisine, and fine liquours, and you’re on the right track.

Their hand-crafted cocktails are especially worth shouting about, with The Royal Misbehave being my favourite.

Pair it with one of their bar bites, like the spiced apple pie, and prepare for a night as sweet as your food and drink!

10. 360 Bar

360-bar-at-night-rooftop-bars-budapest

Address: Budapest, Andrássy út 39, 1061

For incredible 360-degree views of Budapest, look no further than the aptly-named 360 Bar.

With unrivalled vistas and a vibrant atmosphere, 360 Bar is one of the most fun rooftop bars in Budapest.

As well as having a great Mediterranean menu, they host loads of live music and events all year round.

And in the winter, their rooftop transforms into a magical winter garden with igloos for you to relax in while you enjoy a tipple or two.

Be sure to bring a camera for this one!

11. Roxy Rooftop Lounge

roxy-rooftop-lounge-at-night-rooftop-bars-budapest

Address: Budapest, Nagymező utca 38, 1065 Hungary

Phone number: +36 1 472 5299

Sitting atop the Hard Rock, Roxy Rooftop Lounge is easily one of my favourite rooftop bars in Budapest.

It’s the perfect place for music lovers to come to enjoy some soft beats while sipping on a G&T or two.

Roxy Rooftop Lounge specialises in crafting sensational G&Ts, with 36 different gins and 14 different tonics to try.

That’s a whole load of combinations, right?!

Whatever your taste, the expert bartenders will be sure to mix the perfect G&T for you.

Sadly, Roxy has become so popular that it now only opens on select dates so be sure to consult their website and make a reservation ahead of time!

12. Yeast Terrace

élesztő-terasz-at-night-rooftop-bars-budapest

Address: Budapest, Lövőház u. 2, 1024 Hungary

For a more casual, local rooftop experience, look no further than Yeast Terrace, Budapest’s first rooftop pub!

This down-to-earth pub has a huge rooftop, meaning there’s loads of space for you and your gang to get together.

Not only do they serve incredible beer (this is a pub, after all) but they also have a great selection of wines and liquor for non-beer drinkers.

Even better yet, this spot is pet-friendly too so you may just find yourself surrounded by furry friends!

13. White Raven Skybar & Lounge

white-raven-skybar-and-lounge-in-daytime

Address: Budapest, Hess András tér 1-3, 1014 Hungary

Phone number: +36 30 676 2620

Soar above the city at White Raven Skybar & Lounge, the highest rooftop bar in Budapest.

While that alone should be enough to convince you to visit here (I mean, the view speaks for itself, doesn’t it?), there are many reasons to love White Raven.

Firstly, their signature cocktails are truly a sight to behold (and taste!).

Expect unique concoctions like the pomegranate-infused Margarita Riff topped with a cloud of candyfloss.

Similarly, their ever-changing seasonal food menu will have you coming back time and time again just to try it all.

Yep, it’s all that tasty!

14. Liebling

crowd-of-people-at-liebling-rooftop-bar-at-night

Address: Budapest, Akácfa u. 51, 1073

Phone number: +36 1 783 8820

For a casual spin on your typically classy rooftop bar, Liebling‘s a great shout.

Translating to ‘darling’ in English, Liebling is the hidden rooftop bar of the famous Instant-Fogas nightclub.

It’s the perfect place to get in a few drinks and enjoy great live music before you dance the night away to electro music in the club.

Their no-fuss menu includes beers and mixed drinks, and you won’t go hungry here either as they also serve food!

The terrace is open until 6 am too so you can enjoy it all night long.

15. Leo Rooftop

exterior-of-leo-rooftop-bar-on-sunny-day

Address: Budapest, Clark Ádám tér 1, 1013

Phone number: +36 70 944 6320

Last but by no means least, Leo Rooftop is an upmarket rooftop bar serving delicious small plates and creative cocktails.

From here, you’ll be able to soak up the incredible views of the Danube bridges, downtown Budapest, the Citadel, and  Buda Castle.

Their signature cocktail list is super lengthy, with loads of different options to suit everyone, so you’re bound to find something you love here.

Similarly, there’s something for everyone on their food menu too so even if you’re vegan, Leo’s got your back!

This top-notch sky bar is not one to miss so be sure to check it out when you’re in Budapest.

So that concludes my round-up of all the best rooftop bars in Budapest!

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you’re truly spoilt for choice when it comes to rooftop bars in Budapest.

Why not pick out a few of your favourites and head out on a sky-high bar crawl?

Sounds like a great night to me!
