Rooftop Bars Glasgow: 14 Best Bars with Amazing Views [2024]

by

Glasgow is Edinburgh’s cool younger sibling, and so it’s unsurprising that the nightlife is incredible.

If you’re after a fun night out, then you’re sure to find it in Glasgow, that’s for sure!

Given that you’re reading this post, I think it’s fair to assume that you’re partial to a rooftop drink every now and again.

If so, then you’re in luck, because I’ve rounded up the very best rooftop bars in Glasgow for you.

Just get scrolling and head on over to your favourites, then thank me later!

1. Red Sky Bar

Address: 25 Tunnel St, Finnieston Quay, Glasgow G3 8HL

Phone number: 0141 471 1700

One of the best rooftop bars in Glasgow, Red Sky Bar is right at the top of the Radisson hotel.

It’s a gorgeous spot to enjoy a sunset drink or two with your nearest and dearest.

And because it looks out over the city, it offers unparalleled views which you won’t soon forget.

They do afternoon tea, and it’s a fantastic location to enjoy one for a special occasion, so get booked in!

Similarly, their sharing boards are also the stuff of dreams.

That cheese board is enough to convince me to go as soon as I get the chance to, that’s for sure.

What would your dishes of choice be here?

They’re all delicious!

2. Mackintosh at the Willow

Address: 215-217 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3EX

Phone number: 0141 204 1903

Mackintosh at the Willow’s terrace is one of only two South facing terraces in the whole of Glasgow city centre.

So if you want to fully enjoy the sunshine while it’s around, then this is the place for you.

The beautiful rooftop terrace is carefully designed to show off its original brickwork as well as give you views of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed chimney, which is a beauty.

Floral décor and clever lighting give this rooftop space a gorgeous feel to it, and you’ll fall in love from the moment you arrive.

The terrace can also be covered and heated for times when the sun isn’t shining (which in Glasgow isn’t uncommon!), making Mackintosh even more worthy of a spot on this list!

3. Chinaski’s

Address: 239 North St, Glasgow G3 7DL

Phone number: 0141 221 0061

Chinaski’s is an intimate candle-lit bar that celebrates Charles Bukowski, so if you’re a literary fan, this could be the bar for you.

They serve up a choice of bourbons in classic Bukowski style, and they have a lovely outdoor space that’s perfect for a lowkey catch-up with a pal.

It would also be a great place to enjoy a Bukowski book with a glass of bourbon in hand if that’s more your style.

The rooftop terrace is a real sun trap, so it is fab for a summer’s day.

They do, of course, have drinks other than bourbon on offer.

In fact, they have cocktails galore, among other things!

Pair your beverage with a vegan haggis burger for a true Glasgow experience.

4. Malones Irish Bar

Address: 57-59 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 4AB

Phone number: 0141 332 8899

Malones Irish Bar is a sizeable, relaxed pub with your classic Irish bar vibes.

They serve classic pub grub and accompany it with some super fun live music, which always makes a night on the town more entertaining, in my opinion!

It’s also one of the best spots in Glasgow to go to watch some live sports, so if that’s your thing, check it out.

Moreover, their roof garden is the perfect place to indulge in some dirty fries and a beef chilli burrito, all washed down by an ice-cold pint.

What could be more incredible than that on a summer’s day?

5. Windows at The Carlton George

Address: 44 W George St, Glasgow G2 1DH

Phone number: 0141 353 6373

One of my favourite rooftop bars in Glasgow, Windows at The Carlton George is located on the seventh floor of the hotel, offering beautiful views of the Glasgow skyline to all who visit it.

It’s also technically the only rooftop restaurant in Glasgow, which makes it worth visiting even without another reason, in my opinion!

Relax by the window and drink in the panoramic views of Glasgow city.

Afternoon tea?

Windows can do that for you!

Scottish blade of beef more your thing?

Fear not, because Windows can do that too.

They have something to suit everyone’s tastes!

6. Record Factory

Phone number: 0141 334 8888

Record Factory is a fun, laidback pub with an underground vibe and one of the very best beer gardens in Glasgow.

It’s an ambitious fusion of music and revelry, resulting in incredibly fun vibes which will make sure you have a night to remember!

From live music right the way through to pool tables, there’s something to suit everyone in this bar.

They also have nachos and tacos on the menu, which is always a winning combo for me.

Even better, it’s mega good value here, so if you want a night out that won’t break the bank, get yourself down to Record Factory today!

7. 1051 GWR

Address: 1051 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G12 0XP

Phone number: 0141 339 5575

1051 GWR is housed in a nineteenth-century former railway station, and it’s a real treat in every way.

Firstly, they serve up elevated pub grub and some cracking cocktails in a stylish setting with a fab outdoor space – what more could you want?

Secondly, the Sundeck is one of their major selling points, so make sure you head out and check it out.

It’s a fab spot for outdoor drinking!

Finally, their GWR Sharing Feast is an absolute steal at £45.

This will get you eight grill items, two sides, two sauces and four glasses of wine or half-pints of cask ale.

Make sure to get that if you’re feeling hungry!

8. The Corinthian Club

Address: 191 Ingram St, Glasgow G1 1DA

Phone number: 0141 552 1101

The Corinthian Club comprises a casino, restaurants, bars and clubs which are spread out over five floors of a sprawling Victorian venue.

As you’ve probably guessed, there’s also a rooftop bar that’s absolutely to die for.

This stunning rooftop is one of the best places in Glasgow to soak up the sun while you sip on a glass of fizz and nibble on some delightful light bites.

It’s incredibly stylish, and I’m sure you’ll find that it’s a fab place to go for a special occasion celebration.

It’s made for birthday parties, let me tell you!

While you’re there, be sure to check out the rest of the bars on offer too.

9. Caffe Parma

Address: 30A Hyndland Rd, Glasgow G12 9UP

Phone number: 0141 334 3811

Caffe Parma is a great little Italian restaurant in Glasgow’s West End.

If you want an Italian meal in polished surroundings, this may just be the place for you.

They don’t have a rooftop bar per se, but they do have a terrace space that looks out over the tennis courts below – perfect for any Wimbledon fans among us!

The Gorgonzola e Pere pizza sounds amazing, so I think that would have to be my choice.

I do also love a lasagne though, so it would be a battle between the two!

10. October

Address: Princes Square Shopping Center, Buchanan St, Glasgow G1 3JN

Phone number: 0141 221 0303

October is on the rooftop of Princes Square Shopping Center.

It’s a super chic spot that has fast become one of Glasgow’s most fun and exclusive nighttime spots.

This pretty in pink rooftop hideaway is the best place to escape after a long week at work, and it makes for a great Instagram backdrop too!

Ice-cold cocktails and laidback brunches are the order of the day here at October, and it’s such a fab place for a catch-up with your besties.

Pair their cupcake Ferris wheel with a sharing frozen pornstar martini, and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect weekend!

One of the best rooftop bars in Glasgow? I think so!

11. Jinty McGuinty’s

group-of-friends-celebrating-st-patricks-day-at-jintys

Address: 29 Ashton Ln, Hillhead, Glasgow G12 8SJ

Phone number: 0141 339 0747

Jinty McGuinty’s has been one of Glasgow’s most popular bars since it popped up on the scene in 1991, and it’s showing no signs of changing.

It has live music, great beer and is the ultimate place to go if you’re after fun vibes.

Of course, given that it has made this list, it also has a terrace, which makes it even better than it already was.

Irish pubs are always good fun, even when they’re not in Ireland, so definitely be sure to pay Jinty’s a visit.

Any 2 days in Glasgow itinerary is incomplete without a visit here.

12. VEGA

tables-inside-vega-pub-in-evening

Address: Westergate, 260 Argyle St, Glasgow G2 8QW

Phone number: 0141 428 4496

VEGA is exactly what Glasgow has been waiting for.

It has cocktails, it has bowling, it has trendy pub grub, and it has fantastic DJ nights for you to dance the night away at.

What more could you want from a bar?

The bar has some of the most epic city views in Glasgow, and for that reason, it’s also named after one of the brightest stars in the sky.

Because that’s exactly what VEGA is – a bright star on Glasgow’s skyline!

VEGA lights up as the sun goes down, and I can think of very few places better for a night out on the town with your friends.

13. Beechings

Address: 34 Clarkston Rd, Cathcart, Glasgow G44 3QH

Phone number: 0141 633 3585

Beechings is a chilled-out pub that’s home to one of the best rooftop gardens in Glasgow, so if that’s what you’re after, then you’re in luck!

They love a quiz and a karaoke session, too, making it the perfect place to add some spice to your night out after a few drinks on the town.

It’s Glasgow’s oldest brewpub, and it’s incredibly well-loved by all who visit it.

The rooftop terrace is also enormous, so it’s perfect for a big group of you to enjoy a drink or two on.

It’s one of the best places around for an alfresco pint, that’s for sure!

14. Rufus T Firefly

pizza-on-table-at-rufus-t-fireplay-bar

Address: 207 Hope St, Glasgow G2 2UW

Phone number: 0141 332 1469

Rufus T Firefly may not strike you as the kind of place that would have a rooftop terrace, but you’ll be pleased to hear it does.

It’s a city centre rock pub with cocktails, a beer garden and regular live music.

You won’t find a better spot for a chilled night out with your best mates, trust me.

It’s super good fun, and it’s reasonably priced.

That’s exactly what I want from a night out, to be honest with you.

Get yourself out to that garden and get ready to sink some pints, because this is the perfect place to do exactly that.

So there you have it: the 14 best rooftop bars in Glasgow.

Glasgow is a cracking city, and it has an equally cracking selection of rooftop bars, as you can see!

There’s everything from casual to classy, tacos to steak, and whichever one you choose, one thing you’re guaranteed is a good time.
