by

Spoiler alert: Paris isn’t the most vegan-friendly city in the world.

But don’t worry because if you’re vegan and visiting the city soon, you don’t need to miss out on indulging in croissants and macarons galore!

As a vegan myself, I felt spoilt for choice with all the incredible vegan patisseries I discovered during my last trip to Paris.

I spent much of the weekend stuffing myself silly with tasty quiche, filled baguettes, and cinnamon buns galore!

If you’re looking for some amazing vegan bakeries in Paris, then you’re in luck because I’ve rounded up all the best places in one handy guide.

So scroll through to discover your new go-to vegan boulangerie in Paris.

1. Land & Monkeys

Address: Multiple locations

If you only have enough time to visit one vegan patisserie in Paris, let it be Land & Monkeys.

Land & Monkeys has been a mainstay on Paris’ vegan scene since 2018 and it’s continued making waves ever since.

Not only is their entire shop 100% vegan but they also have an incredible six locations across the city.

So whether you’re near to Amsterdam, Beaumarchais, Indefense, Rocket, Turenne, or Pernety, Land & Monkeys is here to satisfy your sweet tooth!

I came back here time and time again to sample their huge menu which ranges from brioche and baguettes to madeleines and marble cake.

Some items were more hit-and-miss (I’m looking at you, croque monsieur).

However, others had me dreaming about them for weeks (the broccoli focaccia, and the butternut squash and leek quiche).

Other standout items are the apricot and pistachio tart, the monkey cookie, and the citron cake, but basically, everything here is to die for.

You’ll have to pay a surcharge to eat within their cafes, though I believe patisserie is best enjoyed al fresco anyway.

Grab a big bag of goodies and head to your favourite park to indulge in Land & Monkeys’ incredible vegan patisserie in Paris.

2. VG Pâtisserie

Address: 123 Bd Voltaire, 75011 Paris

Phone number: +33 9 67 80 13 42

If you’ve been seeking the perfect vegan macaron in Paris, then look no further than VG Pâtisserie.

Founded in 2016, this gorgeous little bakery was the first gourmet vegan patisserie in Paris and to this day, it’s still one of the best.

As well as being entirely plant-based, their menu is also 100% gluten-free, so it’s no surprise that it always attracts a crowd.

Here, you’ll be able to spoil yourself with tasty macarons, mouth-watering tarts, and perfect pastries.

The tarts are definitely the menu highlight so if you only order one thing, let it be that.

(Try the lemon and passionfruit one and thank me later!)

Similarly, their strawberry and raspberry croissants were the best vegan croissants I’ve ever tasted which is no mean feat.

Other fan favourites are the cinnamon bun, hazelnut praline cookie, and their flan which comes in lots of different flavours.

This bakery is smaller and more intimate than Land & Monkeys so sadly, there’s no space to eat inside.

However, there is space out front for you to enjoy your patisserie in the sunshine (or shelter from the rain undercover!).

3. Cloud Cakes

Address: 6 Rue Mandar, 75002 Paris

Phone number: +33 1 42 33 95 45

You’ll be on cloud nine after your visit to Cloud Cakes.

This charming bakery and cafe has an impressive line-up of plant-based cupcakes, pastries, and more.

With a name like that, it’s no surprise that their vegan cupcakes are the star of the show here – and for good reason!

They have five incredible flavours for you to try (red velvet, vanilla cream, chocolate caramel, Boston cream pie, and peanut butter jelly), all of which are completely delicious.

My favourite would be the red velvet so if you only order one, I’d recommend that!

Alongside cupcakes, they also serve bigger cakes (the marble cake is incredible, FYI), as well as brownies, cookies, banana bread, and croissants.

If you’re a big fan of brownies, their chocolate and walnut brownie is a game-changer.

Here, you can eat both inside and out.

Or alternatively, if you live within a 3.5km radius of the bakery, their pastries are available for delivery on Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

Want something more substantial to eat?

Then join them for a delicious plant-based brunch – their brunch dishes are super tasty and well worth trying!

As well as being fully vegan, all their cakes are refined sugar-free, gluten-free, and raw so as to keep all their vital nutrients and vitamins.

So if you’re looking for some of the healthiest vegan patisserie in Paris, then you know where to head!

Menu highlights include a beautiful orange and berry cake, a popular carrot cake, and a very Instagrammable (and tasty) pink velvet cake.

However, if you prefer your cakes on the more chocolatey side, you’ll love their double chocolate gâteau – it blew my mind when I tried it.

Top tip: come here with a big appetite so you can also try out their raw vegan gastronomy!

Think burgers, salad bowls, and hearty brunch dishes, and you’re on the right lines.

They also have some delicious smoothies that will .perfectly wash down your patisserie.

5. Jo and Nana Cakes

Address: 14 Rue Abel, 75012 Paris

Phone number: +33 9 86 45 78 42

Stepping into Jo and Nana Cakes is like stepping foot into your own nana’s house.

Think picture-perfect pastel tones, warm and friendly service, and the sweet scent of delicious baked goods.

This beautiful, retro tea house has built up a worthy reputation for being one of the best vegan bakeries in Paris, and after trying some of their pastries, you’ll understand why.

Although they serve French pastries, the tea house also takes inspiration from British teatime and the USA’s huge layered cakes.

Expect to find globally-inspired baked goods, ranging from chocolate chip and roasted hazelnut cookies to traditional French mille-feuille.

Everything is 100% vegan and gluten-free too so everyone can join in on the fun here.

If you only order one thing to start, try the passionfruit caramel tart – it’s something special!

Chocolate lovers like me will go crazy for Jo and Nana’s staple three-chocolate cake dessert.

It was definitely my favourite thing I tried.

Although there’s ample dining space inside and out here, I’d recommend booking a seat in advance to avoid disappointment.

6. Grounded

Address: 101 Rue de Charonne, 75011 Paris

Grounded is the friendliest little vegan coffee shop that will entice you in as soon as you see the pastries in the store window.

Step inside to the sweet smell of freshly baked goods and fragrant coffee beans.

The best combination, no?

As well as vegan pastries and incredible coffee, Grounded also has an amazing plant-based breakfast and lunch menu if you’re looking for something a little more filling.

But let’s be honest, it’s the patisserie you’re after here!

The sesame roll with strawberry jam is a game-changer, and the white chocolate cookie with black and blond sesame seeds will leave you wanting more.

You can also expect to find a phenomenal range of cookies, tasty cinnamon rolls, and various cakes.

(Think brownies and banana bread, and you’re on the right lines.)

Their menu constantly changes with the seasons and has featured goodies like frangipane fig tart and an apricot and hazelnut roll in the past.

This means you can visit time and time again without ever getting bored!

For a vegan patisserie in Paris that won’t disappoint, look no further than Grounded.

7. Aujourd’hui Demain

Address: 42 Rue du Chemin Vert, 75011 Paris

Phone number: +33 9 81 65 20 01

Last but by no means least, we have Aujourd’hui Demain, which translates to Today Tomorrow.

This plant-based restaurant and coffee shop has a mind-blowing dessert menu that never disappoints.

On their evening menu, you’ll find everything from a rhubarb hibiscus tartlet to a chocolate buckwheat mousse.

However, if you’re just popping in to buy a cake don’t worry because they’ve got you covered all day every day.

Think filled cookies, peanut butter cups, muffins, brownies, cheesecake, banana bread, and the list goes on…

While they aren’t known for their typical French patisserie, Aujourd’hui Demain is easily one of the best vegan bakeries in Paris.

As well as show-stopping layered cakes that you can order in advance, they also serve incredible breakfast dishes, large plates, and super tasty drinks.

Come for the cake, and stay for the Spicymen cocktail.

(It’s made up of brandy, red pepper, lemon, maple syrup, and vegan foamer – order it and thank me later!)

I think it’s fair to say that vegans won’t struggle in Paris – at least where sweet treats are concerned anyway!

Hopefully, this list of vegan bakeries in Paris has helped you narrow down the ones you most want to visit.

Wherever you visit, you’re in for an absolute treat.

Just promise to save me some macarons, yeah?
