Treehouses Yorkshire: 9 Best Treehouses You Need to Stay In [2024]

by

So I have two pieces of good news.

The first is that Yorkshire is home to some of the most magical treehouses in the UK that you (yes, you!) can stay in.

And the second is that I’ve rounded all 9 of them up for you in this post to help you decide which to book!

Whether you’re looking for a budget break or a luxurious getaway, there are plenty of treehouses to choose from.

So from treehouses with hot tubs to treehouses with amazing views, here are the 9 best treehouses in Yorkshire.

1. Rufus’s Roost Treehouse

Price per night: From £300 a night for 6 people

Location: Husthwaite, York

Say hello to one of the best glamping holidays with a hot tub in Yorkshire!

Appealing to the inner child within all of us, Rufus’s Roost is the stuff of childhood fantasy.

It’s home to a log-fired pizza oven, an outdoor hot tub, a slide to a secret nook, and even a popcorn machine.

However, one of my favourite things about Rufus’s Roost is how eco-friendly it is!

The heating and hot water come via an Air Source Heat Pump, all lighting is LED and all their products are eco-friendly.

So you can enjoy your stay rest assured that you’re doing your bit for the planet.

What guests say: “Every detail has been so well thought out and it looks even better in real life than what it does in the pictures. We relaxed in the hot tub with some fizz, made homemade pizzas in the wood-fired pizza oven, went and sat round the fire pit one night toasting marshmallows!”

2. Wolds Edge Treehouse

Price per night: From £275 for 2 people

Location: Bishop Wilton, York

Ideal for a romantic getaway for two, Wolds Edge Treehouse was made with honeymoons and anniversaries in mind.

The gorgeously decorated open plan living space is furnished with a kingsize bed, ensuite, a fully-equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV, and a log effect fire to cosy up in front of.

If you want to make your stay with that special someone even more exceptional, Wolds Edge offers some romantic extras.

Whether it’s rose petals on the bed and candles around the hot tub or an English breakfast basket for your first morning, your other half is sure to appreciate the extra touches.

This is definitely one of the most romantic treehouse holidays with a hot tub in the UK, that’s for sure.

What guests say: “Absolutely beautiful weekend from start to finish. The Treehouse is gorgeous with its own hot tub, which certainly had the spa feeling. A complimentary bottle of Prosecco in the fridge on arrival was a lovely touch. Booked again for next year. Thank you.”

3. Dale Farm Treehouse

Price per night: From £100 for 2 people

Location: Hunmanby, nr Flamborough

If you’re looking to stay somewhere where you can completely unwind and get away from the stresses of modern life, then Dale Farm Treehouse is one of the best treehouses in Yorkshire for you!

Rustic yet homely and cosy, the treehouse houses a double bed, woodburner, and a proper hot shower, all decked in fairy lights.

Below, you’ll find a separate loo and a quirky outdoor kitchen to help you properly embrace nature.

However, my favourite thing about the treehouse is its deck with barbecue, chimenea and seating.

Top tip: make the deck even more special by ordering a breakfast picnic that you can enjoy al fresco.

What a delicious way to start the day!

What guests say: “The tree house is magical and in all honesty, the photos don’t do it justice! We enjoyed the views, the coziness, the log burning fire, the snuggly blankets, the old fashioned games, the hot breakfast picnic hampers, the manicured grounds, the small attention to detail that made the treehouse so unique! A gorgeous little romantic nook.”

4. Golden Oak Treehouse at Forest Holidays Keldy

Price per night: From £285 for 8 people

Location: Keldy Forest, nr Pickering

Forest Holidays are well-known for having some of the best cabins and treehouses in the whole of the UK – and this Keldy Treehouse is no exception.

Sleeping an impressive 8 people, this is one of the best treehouses in Yorkshire for a large group of people.

Whether it’s a family reunion or a hen do, the entertaining space in Golden Oak Treehouse is unbeatable – I especially can’t get enough of the private outdoor decking area!

The treehouse is filled with all sorts of luxuries, including a hot tub, underfloor heating, Nespresso coffee machine, Wi-Fi, TV, Bluetooth speaker, robes and slippers, and luxury toiletries.

Does it get much better than this?

What guests say: “We stayed in the Golden Oak Treehouse myself, hubby, mum, dad & two kids. The rooms were lovely, I’ve never had such thick towels even on a posh spa break, cosy robes and slippers included in ensuite room and treehouse. On arrival check in was fast and very efficient, couldn’t fault any of the staff. The hot tub was an added bonus, my 12 year old was never out of it, relaxing in it at nightime watching the occasional bat fly overhead was great.”

5. Studford Luxury Treehouses

Price per night: From £325 for 6 people

Location: Ampleforth, nr Helmsley

Studford Luxury Treehouses are easily some of my favourite treehouses in Yorkshire.

If you want luxury, luxury is exactly what you’ll find here!

From the hot tub, sauna and White Company toiletries to the Smart TV, SONOS sound system, and fully-equipped living space, you’ll be left wanting for absolutely nothing.

Words will never do these treehouses justice because they really are that amazing so I guess you’ll just have to discover them for yourself.

Oh, and dig into the complimentary welcome hamper while you’re at it!

Believe me, they’re worth every penny.

What guests say: “The lodge was everything and more. On walking through the door the shoulders relaxed and the stresses of the last 14 months flowed away. Everything you needed was in the lodge, and if it wasn’t then it would be provided. We walked and walked, laughed and cried. The lodges are stunning and very private, so much that you could be in your own little forest.”

6. Rodmer Clough Tree Cabin

Price per night: From £95 for 2 people

Location: Hebden Bridge, nr Halifax

Rodmer Clough Tree Cabin is easily one of the most unique treehouses in Yorkshire.

Admittedly, it feels more akin to a pod than a treehouse but this only makes it all the more intimate and romantic.

Ideal for couples on a budget, Rodmer Clough is set in its own small private woodland looking out over an ancient mill pond.

The surroundings are incredibly scenic and you’ll really feel at one at nature – especially when you spot local wildlife like deer passing by!

I couldn’t think of many better views to wake up to.

Plus, when you wake up you’ll be able to tuck into your complimentary continental breakfast, which I definitely wouldn’t be complaining about.

What guests say: “Fantastic quirky woodland accommodation. Being in private woodland allows the property to uniquely have an outdoor shower! Having a hot outdoor shower under the stars is not something that will slip your mind easily! The cabin is well appointed, comfortable and cosy. No TV, WiFi or mobile reception but in this setting you don’t need them.”

7. Relaxing Treehouse

Price per night: From £105 for 2 people

Location: Glasshouses, nr Harrogate

Relaxing Treehouse does exactly what it says on the tin: it provides a relaxing environment for you and your partner to forget about the rest of the world and focus only on each other.

It may be simple but that only makes it more romantic.

Inside you’ll find a cosy double bed, well-equipped kitchenette, small seating area, and an en-suite bathroom.

However, it’s outside where the real magic happens.

The spacious balcony is the perfect spot to kick back and relax while soaking up the amazing countryside views.

In fact, the views are so good that you’d probably have to drag me off the outdoor seating!

Breakfast al fresco? Sign me up!

What guests say: “Emma is a fantastic host who cant do enough to make you feel welcome during your stay (even picking us up a pizza!). The treehouse has everything you need, from towels and toiletries to fresh eggs, bread, jams coffee etc. There are also a selection of games to play! The house is warm and cosy, with beautiful views over the fields and amazing views of the stars on a clear night. The perfect relaxing weekend away.”

8. Flashman’s Retreat Treehouse

flashmans-retreat-treehouse-with-picnic-table-by-path

Price per night: From £125 for 2 people

Location: Summerbridge, nr Harrogate

Flashman’s Retreat Treehouse certainly wins the award for one of the tallest treehouses in Yorkshire!

This rustic treehouse is the perfect escape from the rat race, but don’t worry, because it still benefits from hot water and electricity.

At Flashman’s Retreat, you’ll get all the benefits of being close to nature but without completely going off-grid.

My favourite thing about the treehouse is that it has two floors: the first is a compact living space, with a kitchenete and en-suite, and the second is a loft (only accessible by ladder) which provides space for a reading nook and a sleeping deck.

Moreover, the other star of the show is, of course, the balcony which has ‘morning coffee’ written all over it.

One of the most unusual places to stay in Yorkshire?

I think so!

What guests say: “What a wonderful place! We loved every moment of our stay at Flashy’s Retreat. The place is super private and secluded in a well-kept little wood. It was so nice to unwind and relax. My partner absolutely adored the BBQ and Chiminea. This made dinner a real treat!! We cooked on this both nights of our stay, and enjoyed a glass of wine around the fire.”

9. The Treehouse

the-treehouse-in-richmond-on-sunny-day

Price per night: From £94 for 2 people

Location: Gilling West, nr Richmond

Okay, so this one’s technically a cheat recommendation because the accommodation isn’t a treehouse.

Buuuut it does have a bubbling hot tub which is housed in a treehouse, so that’s basically the next best thing, right?

With fairy lights twinkling in the tree at night and unparalleled countryside views, it doesn’t get much better than this.

I’m sure you’re now wondering ‘where will I be sleeping then?’ and don’t worry because I have good news for you!

The accommodation is a beautiful stone barn conversion kitted out with lots of home comforts.

Expect a toasty woodburner, a four-poster bed, a cosy sofa and other relaxing features that guarantee a restful stay.

And to top it all off, you also have the luxury of a large fully-equipped kitchen.

What more could you possibly want?!

What guests say: “We loved our stay and the hot tub in the tree house was amazing, particularly on a cold night. The cottage was beautiful inside and the bed was extremely comfortable, one of the best I have ever slept in. The location was perfect, it was very quiet around the cottage but still close enough to visit places.”
